TWO WITNESSES COULD END KERRY PRESIDENTIAL RUN -- "The Phoenix Project"
various sources | 3-12-04 | dfu

THOMAS LIPSCOMB STORY

Reporter Thomas Lipscomb wrote the story which is linked above in the NY SUN. It has the potential to end the Kerry presdential run.

I had a great conversation with Lipscomb a short while ago. This story was too hot for some of the majors. But Lipscomb assured me it is well-sourced and is dead on.

Two witnesses have placed John Kerry at a Kansas City meeting of the hierarchy of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War in November of 1971. At that meeting, they actually took a vote about assassinating United States senators. It was called "The Phoenix Project" and was the brainchild of Scott Camil. Kerry spokesman David Wade has denied Kerry was at the meeting.

The two witnesses who place Kerry at the meeting are Terry Du-Bose and Randy Barnes. What is very interesting is that Barnes is a big Kerry supporter and the head of Missouri Vets for Kerry. As a supporter, Barnes would certainly not make up a story that would hurt his candidate. He told Lipscomb of Kerry's attendance at the meeting.

Think of the implications. If the mainsteam media and major news networks do their homework, they may discover that a man who wants to be president was at a meeting discussing the possiblity of assassinating United States senators. That is a conspiracy. Instead of the White House, does John Forbes Kerry belong in the Big House?

Get on the phone to newsrooms and shame them into covering this story. A major mainsteam journalist returned by email in about a half hour after I sent him info. He finds it "interesting." Let's see if pursues it. He is notable enough, that if he does the story, all hell will break loose in the presidential campaign.

Note: Lipscomb is not a right-wing ideologue. He did a recent story defending Kerry over his medals. He also recently did a story in which he went after George Bush's National Guard service. He told me that he expected to find a drunken rich kid with coke up his nose. Instead, he discovered that Bush actually did more than make up the meetings he had missed and he honorably fulfilled his duty. And Terry McAuliffe knows it.

I missed CSPAN.

Whatever discussion was going on about church and state, I don't suppose Kerry campaigning in black churches and claiming to have been anointed president last week after some bishop laid hands on him raises any complaints from the left.

doug, we should HIT kerry with this AFTER he has been officially nominated by the democrat convention. This time with names and pictures of the people who saw and talked with him at the meeting to eliminate some senators. With stories like this we're placing ole broadbeam in line to be nominated at the convention, without her having to campaign at all. She will then run the same kind of campaign as she did in NY with no appearances before a "mixed" audience, only an audience hand picked to give the best possible appearance.

There's a LETTER OF RESIGNNATION out there?

On the original New York Sun thread (linked at the beginning of this one), this "letter" is discussed. Though Brinkley was told by Kerry there was a letter he sent in the summer of '71, Kerry does not have a copy and the VVAW does not have a copy, and the NY Sun reports the "oral" resignation after the meeting that Kerry denies attending.

It appears Kerry wanted to convey that he quit before the November meeting and denies attending because he does not want to be linked to it at all (I say again, though, his campaign has reached out to "Scott the Assassin" who came up with the plot, and asked Scott Camil to join the campaign).

Thanks for the CSPAN headsup, but reading FR is all the politics I can take right now. I'm watching a movie on TBS whilst freeping. :)

It needs to be seen by ALL FREEPERS. (People die for lack of knowledge.)

The Dems are putting on major, major voodoo propaganda on Kerry's "hero" status during Nam and projecting Bush as nothing short of a "rich boy" college kid just short of being AWOL.

And they're doing an amazing job of it. If you were an average "Joe Sheeple" being presented with this, it wouldn't look at all good for Dubya.

This is how the Dems are portraying Bush against Kerry:

=======================================

Mother Jones Propaganda Machine

George W. Bush and John Kerry both spent their mid twenties in uniform. The similarities end there.
February 8, 2004

A senior at Yale, Kerry commits to enlist in the Navy.

December, 1967:
Kerry is assigned as an Ensign to the guided-missile frigate USS Gridley. After five-months aboard, he returns to San Diego to undergo training to command a Swift boat, used by the Navy for patrols in Vietnam.

June, 1968:
Kerry is promoted to Lieutenant.#

November 17, 1968:
Kerry arrives in Vietnam, where he is given command of Swift boat No. 44, operating in the Mekong Delta.

December 2, 1968:
Kerry gets his first taste of intense combat, and is wounded in the arm. He is awarded a Purple Heart.

January, 1969:
Kerry takes command of a new Swift boat, completing 18 missions over 48 days, almost all in the Mekong Delta area.

February 20, 1969:
Kerry is wounded again, taking shrapnel in the left thigh, after a gunboat battle. He is awarded a second Purple Heart.

February 28, 1969:
Kerry and his boat crew, coming under attack while patroling in the Mekong Delta, decide to counterattack. In the middle of the ensuing firefight, Kerry leaves his boat, pursues a Viet Cong fighter into a small hut, kills him, and retreives a rocket launcher. He is awarded a Silver Star.

March 13, 1969:
A mine detonates near Kerry's boat, wounding him in the right arm. He is awarded a third Purple Heart. He is also awarded a Bronze Star for pulling a crew member, who had fallen overboard, back on the boat amidst a firefight.

April, 1969:
According to Navy rules, sailors that have been wounded three times in combat are eligible to be transfered to the U.S. for noncombat duty. Kerry is transferred to desk duty in Brooklyn, NY.

January 3, 1970:
Kerry requests that he be discharged early from the Navy so that he can run for Congress in Massachusetts' Third District. The request is granted, and Kerry begins his first political campaign.

February 1970:
Kerry drops his bid for the Democratic nomination and supports Robert F. Drinan. Drinan, a staunch opponent of the war, wins the race and goes on to serve in Congress for ten years.

June 1970:
Kerry joins Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and becomes one of the group's unofficial spokespeople.

April 23, 1971:

Kerry moves to Massachusetts' 5th District to run for Congress again. He wins the Democratic nomination but loses to Republican Paul Cronin, in part because of his anti-war views.

After losing the election, Kerry is hired as a regional coordinator for Cooperative for American Relief to Everywhere(CARE).

September, 1973:
Kerry enrolls at Boston College Law School.
