WASHINGTON - Sen. John Kerry yesterday refused to apologize for calling his Republican opponents "crooked" and "lying," while the GOP ripped him for taking the low road.
Kerry was under fire after he was caught on an open microphone on Wednesday telling a few supporters that Republican critics were "the most crooked, you know, lying group I've ever seen."

"There is a Republican attack squad that specializes in trying to destroy people and be negative," Kerry said. "I haven't said anything that's incorrect about them. They've said a lot of things that are incorrect." I don't think he meant FR, did he? Nah (snicker).

Kerry's nasty commentary will be sloughed off by the media and we will soon hear over and over that the BUSH campaign has gone negative. How predictable.

Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas) said Kerry's remark gave Americans "a little glimpse of the real John Kerry, and he's not even tired yet." Just who is the real John Kerry. Is he a knock-out artist, boxing himself into a corner with his waffling on the issues, or does he resemble more Leonard Zelig, the title character of Woody Allen's movie? Anyone check his wardrobe for a turban?

Did you notice that none of these liberals had anything to say about the "hell on earth" in Spain, at the hands of terrorists?
We are not talking about mentally healthy minds in their lust to regain power.

I suppose this is a glimpse of Kerry's "diplomatic style". Should go over well with those world leaders who endorsed him, I'd imagine.

I'm dying for Bush to make a funny and lighthearted crack about Kerry starring in the "I have a screem sequel". The media would then have no choice but to cover it and draw attention to Kerry's shrill attacks on Bush.

Kerry as "Ted Kennedy on a South Beach diet."
or ... Kennedy as Kerry on a liquid diet.

Anyone check Kerry's wardrobe for a turban? I checked, and this is the only thing I came up with.

They're gonna send out announcements after the election.

"I think the Republicans need to start talking about the real issues before the country." The "real issues" being whether the Republicans are crooked and lying? One interesting note: Vietnam seems to come up a lot less frequently in these stories. I guess when he is being such a clymer, Kerry isn't quite as much of a decorated Vietnam veteran.

Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) said House Republicans see Kerry as "Ted Kennedy on a South Beach diet." This is a disgusting slander on Kerry. As far as we know Kerry never killed a white person.

The ads implied Cleland, who lost three limbs in the Vietnam War, wasn't tough enough on defense. The ads were correct. And although loss of a limb or 3 is pretty devastating it does not instantaneously make Cleland a military genius.
Kerry and Cleland in this case, are more like one half each of 'puff the magic dragon'.

"I think the Republicans need to start talking about the real issues before the country." The President's new ads highlighting Kerry's record on taxes and national security should make the Senator feel better.

Perhaps Kerry knew his microphone was on. This may have been a ruse to leak his real message such as it is.

One of our great FReepers said Kerry's registered with the "gridal registry" over at Martha Stewrt's run by Rosie (gag) O'Donnell.

If you have's already, you may want to link up with the FR Swa Team action project re Kerry's slander against Amreicans. This is an outrageous comment by a presidential candidate. When Kerry said 'these guys' he could have been referring to you - or me - our friends - or our relatives.
ACTION The FR Swat Team is conducting a full scale, all-out assault on the media to advise them of our outrage. We need to email, call and write national and local, print and broadcast news media. We need to hammer them with this, and nothing else, through the weekend.

I hope no one here thinks that this was accidental. It's just another orchistrated Kerry ploy to get some free publicity.
It worked too.
