Iraq's reconstruction is proceeding smoothly and on schedule....
Retired Navy Rear Adm. David J. Nash said the $18.4 billion aid package approved by Congress last fall rapidly is translating into tangible, on-the- ground improvements in Iraq's infrastructure, internal security and services.... "I'm very pleased at our progress, and am looking forward to delivering on a promise."
Seven project management support contracts are expected to be awarded later today. Another 10 construction contracts for services including electricity, water, transportation and communications are expected to be awarded within the next couple of weeks. Collectively, these contracts will represent an estimated $5 billion in funding.
"We ought to have whatever oversight is required to make people feel comfortable that the right things are being done. In fact, I welcome it, because it is only going to improve the quality of what we do."

More great news from Iraq - jobs, steady progress...
good guys still rolling over the weaker, far more heavily promoted evildoers.
Jean Fuppie Kerry has demanded a commission to investigate this.
Must be a law against saying anything good about that company!
Heh, heh....
I was shocked (no, really, I was ~ silly me (*sigh*)) to read AP and the rest of the int'l press's take on this press conference.
Absolute truth that things are going well with the contracts and rebuilding, measurable and heartening progress made...and what is OUR FREE press telling the world? That the contracts have DC connections. THAT is AP headline account of a year's worth of sacrifice, courageous, hard work done by you and your fellow civilians...and the companies willing to take the risks, to bring freedom to a war zone.
There ought to be a law!!!
You know we love and appreciate you, and have ya covered in prayer.
