Found this on cnn.com...on the front page, but not prominently displayed. I s'pose the Spain bombings are more important today: but how about a little credit to Ashcroft's DOJ department and/or the FBI??

I'll look for Dan Rather to cover it on See-BS tonite. Of course, have her working for a CongressCritter with an (R) vs. (D) behind the name, and this story would be 24 X 7 news coverage.

But, the fourth estate must protect Mr. Wyden.

Susan Lindauer, 41, was arrested in her hometown of Takoma Park, Maryland...

For those of you who might be unfamiliar with Maryland geography, Takoma Park is the noisiest little Communist enclave in the State of Maryland (and that's saying a lot!).

They've done the full routine, from declaring themselves a "nuclear-free" zone (while using electricity produced at the nuclear powered facility in Calvert County) and giving voting rights to illegal immigrants.

Indeed. And may God speed General Ashcroft's recovery.

Here's whats missing: She has also on the staff of one DEMOCRATIC congressman and the staff of Carol Mosley Braun who of course is another Democrat. Also she has worked for the media (U.S. News and World Report I believe) which is also not mentioned. I guess you have to watch out for your own.

Don't worry, as soon as some nut job like Michael Moore claims she was a Republican plant, the media will swarm.

On January 8, 2003, prosecutors said, Lindauer tried to influence U.S. foreign policy by delivering to the home of a U.S. government official a letter in which she conveyed her access to and contacts with members of Saddam's regime. The official was not identified in the indictment.

And if said official did not immediately report this, wouldn't that person be subject to charge?

"Lockerbie Trial Document: Susan Lindauer Deposition" (4 December 1998) <-- 1998 residence in Silver Springs

Lockerbie -- CIA witness gagged by US government <-- Appears to be same Lindauer

Congressional aide Lindauer, who was involved in early negotiations over the Lockerbie trial, claims Fuisz made "unequivocal statements to me that he has first-hand knowledge about the Lockerbie case".

MediaWatch -- 09/01/1993 -- Revolving Door: Democrat to Democrat to... <-- Gives dates of Lindauer's stint with US News (1990-91)

MediaWatch -- 03/01/1994 -- Revolving Door: Tara Helps Tony <-- More dates ...

Susan Lindauer, a reporter with U.S. News & World Report from 1990 to 1991, has switched Democratic offices within the Oregon congressional team. She's jumped from the office of Peter DeFazio, where she had been Press Secretary, to handle the same duties for Ron Wyden.

Fun with Google!

Signers of the PEACE PLEDGE: TO STOP SPREAD OF ANTI-TERRORIST WAR TO IRAQ <-- Susan Lindauer, Takoma Park, MD, US

A good list to review, BTW. It's long, 3139 names.

Susan Lindauer, the spy for Iraq worked as Sen. Carol Moseley Braun Press Secretary and as a journalist.

And those two brothers that were also indicted....I just wonder if they have anything in common with Scott Ritter.

I want to know WHO the OFFICIAL government official she went to with a deal!!!!

The indictment said Lindauer met on two occasions in Baltimore in June and July with an undercover FBI agent who posed as a Libyan intelligence representative who was seeking to support resistance groups in postwar Iraq. It said she discussed the need for plans and foreign resources to support these groups.

Libyan? Very interesting given her connection to cover up attempts of Libya's involvement with Lockerbie, as noted by others at FR.

So, was she a Libyan agent too? She solicit Libya before? Did Libya tip us off to her too? ARe the reports shying from the Libya connection out of deference to betterment of our relations with Libya.?

Just some thoughts...

Hmmmm, gets interesting, wonder why the AP article fails to mention this:

Iraq Spy Suspect Worked for Congressional Democrats

"She worked for Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., when he was a U.S. congressman, and in 1996 shifted to one-term former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun of Illinois, best known lately for her doomed-from-the-start presidential campaign. She also worked at Fortune, U.S. News & World Report and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Associated Press reported."

Check out what Lindauer said in a 1998 deposition about Libya. This woman absolutely despises the USA, and yet she staffed for two members of Congress.

Now here's a surprise:
As of April 2002, a Susan Lindauer was in the employ of Democratic Rep. Zoe Lofgren of California, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Lindauer previously worked in the press offices of Democrats Rep. Peter DeFazio of Oregon (from approximately May 1993 to January 1994), Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon (starting in January 1994), and Former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun of Illinois (from January 1996 to September 1996).
