Yesterday John Kerry lashed out at at Repubilcans as being the "most crooked and lying group I've even seen". Coming from a Massachusetts politician that is saying something. However, there is an old adage that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. A look at John Kerry's supporters, many of whom are prominently displayed on the "Endorsements" section of his website, contains a few people with rather colorful pasts.
In fact, many of these Kerry supporters, friends, and fundraisers would be more at home on a police blotter than on the Kerry Endorsement Page. Let's take a look at a few:
Bill Clinton - "I did not have sexual relations with that woman". Only the second President in history to have been impeached. He was also held in civil contempt and fined by Judge Susan Webber Wright for his "willful failure" to testify truthfully under oath. He voluntarily surrendered his law license for 5 years because of his actions. Only bandwith prevents us from listing just how "lying and crooked" Bill Clinton truly was.
Ted Kennedy - One word- "Chappaquidick". This prominent supporter of John Kerry allowed a young Mary Jo Kopechne to drown in a car he drove off a bridge. Instead of helping, he used the famous Kennedy chivalry to swim back to his hotel, call his lawyer, and 10 hours later tell the police about the accident where there just happned to be dead girl in the car. He later pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident.
Johnny Chung - This China-gate scandal figure and Kerry supporter was labeled by Kerry staff as “a most special man“ and told by Kerry in a letter that he was “on my team“. He was later convicted of laundering thousands of dollars through the Kerry campaign.
Henry Cisneros - This former HUD Secretary and San Antonio mayor was convicted (and later pardoned by Der Slickmeister) for making false statements to the FBI regarding payments he made to his former mistress. He shared a stage with John Kerry in Texas this past week.
Bob Torricelli - He has so far raised about $50,000 for Kerry and was the person Kerry turned to to jump ugly on Howard Dean. This stench of scandal surrounding this guy was so bad he had to drop out of a Senate race in Soprano-land, er, New Jersey. And in New Jersey actually be bad enough to be considered "corrupt" is no small feat. He also was recently found guilty of leaving the scene of an accident.
Peter Yarrow of "Peter Paul and Mary" is an old buddy of John Kerry back in the good old war protesting hippie days affectionately known to John Kerry as "Pedro". He also travels on the campaign bus and does performances at Kerry fundraisers. What many people don't know is that in 1970 he pled guilty to "taking immoral and improper liberties" with a 14 year old. He served 3 months in prison and was later pardoned by Jimmy Carter.
Barney Frank - This Massachusetts Congressman once had his live in male friend running a male prostitution ring out of their apartment. A House Ethics Committee investigation found that Frank waiving of parking tickets that this pimp had received while using his car. Who ever said "Pimpin' Ain't Easy"?
Antonia Villagrosa - This failed Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate and current City Councilman. What most don't remember is that Villagrosa was the man who lied about sending a letter to Bill Clinton urging him to pardon convicted drug dealer Carlos Vignali, whose father just happned to be a big Villagrosa supporter.
Former Senators John Glenn and Don Reigle - 2 of the infamous "Keating Five" are also endorsing and campaigning for John Kerry.
We hope that we have shown Senator Kerry the folly of not first taking a look in the mirror (or at least on his own website) before throwing out charges of "lying and crooked" people on the other side of the political spectrum. However, as a wise, if not gramatically correct older relative said to me as a small child - "Show me who you hang with and I'll show you what you are".
You don't want a Kerry meltdown too soon (like before June). If that happens watch for Hillary to be annointed at the RATs convention in July.
I think its best to let Kerry wear himself out campaining through the end of the summer. After the Republican convention in September Bush can start beating Kerry to a pulp.
That's why we don't want Kerry to implode so soon. The best time for him to implode is in October just before the election. That way the RATs don't have a chance to replace him with Hillary.
Don't forget what happened in NJ in 2002. The RATs replaced Torricelli with Lautenberg (with the help of the NJ supreme court) in clear violation of the law.
It would be naive for anybody to think the RATs won't try this in this election if they got the opportunity. I hope I'm wrong but ...
I never thought I'd say this but I feel so sorry for Bill. Can you imagine having to look and listen to that??
