Sen. John McCain threatened yesterday to sue the Federal Election Commission if it fails to enforce federal election laws against groups that use "soft money" to influence presidential and congressional races.

"Senator [Russell D.] Feingold is right, use of soft money contributions by '527 groups' whose major purpose is to affect federal elections is not legal," the Arizona Republican said in a Senate Rules and Administration Committee hearing yesterday.

Leftists don't have to follow the law. Same old, same old.

It would be nice if the Republicans all stood up on their hind legs.

At least McCain is, and he's doing it for Dubya. People here will still call him a RINO though.

Off topic except for relation to McCain and Elections:
John McCain should reach out to John Kerry for the VP position.
They deserve each other, their motto could be: How dare you question my motives?
They should be charged with criminal hubris.

If McCain can do this, I wonder if Tancredo could too?

What is it with McCain for the last few weeks?

He's been doing all kinds of media and saying all kinds of total BS.

What's his problem? He had his chance to run against Bush again in the primaries!

So now he's frustrated again because he's not the story.

He was on some TV show a few days ago "supporting" Bush but saying the strangest things about Bush's policies. Sure, he "supports" Bush but bashes him along with the Dems.

Then he says there is NO WAY he'd consider a VP run with Kerry and only TWO DAYS LATER he let's fly another answer to another idiot liberal reporter that he was, again, flattered but now would consider it.

Thus, he would be great for Kerry. He flip-flopped on a response to a question in less than 48 hours.

Then he, along with Collins, Snowe and Chafee, stab Bush in the back in the Senate.

McCain is starting to get just plain annoying. Even more than he was in 2000 when he pretended he was Luke Skywalker escaping the Death Star!

Well John, you now look like Jar Jar Binks helping little Anikan eventually become Darth Vader!

If he and the others don't like being in the GOP, then leave. I'd rather the GOP, under another Bush term with the House, have the chance to replace them. Let the Dems have them and even take control of the Senate by 3 seats. They vote with the Dems all the time anyway. Oh, throw Specter into that mix! He's an abomination.

Besides, there should be sufficient gains in the Senate in 2004 of offset their loss...if it could be called a loss.

Good question. Why isn't Tancredo saying something? Why aren't all the other repubs?

Why is it that our government is turning into an outlaw gang?

Why is it that the commies are making an overt attempt to take over the U.S. and nobodys doing anything?

Our founders would be out tar and feathering some of them, hanging some of them, and shooting some of them.

In Bush speak, it is called "MISUNDERESTIMATING"

This is going to be fun!

Which means the RNC is free to form their own 527 groups. I believe they have one going already.

"At least McCain is, and he's doing it for Dubya. People here will still call him a RINO though."

You mean just because today he said he would run as VP with Scary Kerry id he asked him to. McLame is a first class idiotic fool.

The VC and the NVA fried his brain, now he operates under the Stockholm syndrome of "always help your enemies".

I'm sure McCain will file suit, April 1, 2005.
How can a person like him get elected? NO! Scratch that! Clinton did it twice.
Once shame on you, Twice, Shame on ME! Talk to your friends, get them to vote.

That's not true. He didn't say he'd run with Kerry.
