Of course, the original text is no excuse in Hollywood. Never confuse a Liberal with facts. It's feelings that count! (And truth is relative, so it doesn't matter.)

In strict accordance with the FreeRepublic by laws,
paragraph 4, section 7, stating that, and I quote:
"any mention of our beloved Ann Coulter
must include her image", I offer the following
pictures for your exclusive viewing pleasure.
Carville really IS gollum.

Good catch--but Ann may not write the headlines (but she likely edits them).

Bump, I love this woman. She is totally correct, it's not the Christians of the world who are doing all the killing.
To: Pharmboy
You notice the liberals never hang around on these threads?

"
William Safire, The New York Times' in-house "conservative" -- who endorsed Bill Clinton....."Thank you, again, Ann, for your service to mankind.
I'm glad to see someone calling the phony Safire out. He's a conservative like I'm really Miss America in drag.
To: Pharmboy
Sorry Pharmboy, you know the rules; NO POSTING or mentioning Ann without the obligatory picture. This WILL go in your permanent record and you get two demerits!
I'm kidding about the demerits :-)

Yes really, that's exactly how Christianity works.

Yes really, that's exactly how Christianity works.
Is there anything in the Bible that quotes God as saying "Unless they kill my son, forget about Jesus holding any special sort of reverence"?

***Really? I find that hard to believe.***
About 40 years ago I read a Sci Fi short story about a man who tried to go back in time to rescue Jesus. The other scientists who had invented the time machine tried to stop him because they knew that Jesus had to die to save the souls of mankind.
I always thought that would make a good movie.

A most excellent column!

Ann at her acerbic, on the money best! Actually she seems not so unlike Shmuely Boteach to me in this opinion piece. I found nothing either of them wrote today inspiring.
To: Pharmboy
An awful lot of people have seen the movie. I missed the news about physical attacks on Jews as a result of Christians seeing this movie.

Her rapier targets Safire, whom I think is VERY fair game here.I like William Safire, though I've been angry at him many times: it seems to happen particularly where his association with the New York Times is in evidence. He's absolutely fair game, in general.
Reading his (and Krauthammer's and Frum's) take on The Passion made me sad. There is a real divide here. I don't think Safire's take can be marginalized as simply the reaction of a faux-conservative, a New York Times useful idiot.

Hebrews 9:22-10:10
"22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. 23 Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; 25 not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another-- 26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
1 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.
5 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me. 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. 7 Then I said, 'Behold, I have come-- In the volume of the book it is written of Me-- To do Your will, O God.' " 8 Previously saying, "Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them" (which are offered according to the law), 9 then He said, "Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first that He may establish the second. 10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."
