Why, are the Japanese stupid? Why can't any nation that has a well educated work force that will work for far less then the American work force not be able to supply, at a lower cost, the goods and services demand in the USA?

It is called comparative advantage. See the analogy of the lawyer and the secretary. This is different then absolute advatage.
