Is there an e-mail address? We could bombard them with e-mails, but many of us from our offices can't make calls.

I left a message on Judy Keen's answering machine. I was directed to it by someone in the news department.

I said that explaining to the public that there is a connection between Heinz-Kerry >> Tides Foundation's projects >> and Peaceful Tomorrows would be the right thing to do.

Hannity is all over it again. The media was manipulated by the Kerry people. Go Sean! Expose the cockroaches to the light of day and then...................step on them and hear them go squish.

You probably have seen this but just in case you missed it. The Fellowship for Reconcilliation is also associated with the Peaceful Tomorrows group. Check out their website at http://www.forusa.org/.

Loo-knee! Make sure to read their history at http://www.forusa.org/About/history.html. This is the group that gave Peaceful Tomorrows their seed money.

I will email today.

Everyone should definitely make the call or email. A few months back I emailed the paper after reading a disparaging comment about Bush and Fox News viewers which their Detroit Editor made on the Poynter.org website. I received a call back from a Deputy Managing Editor, saying that Managing Editor Karen Jurgensen had asked him to call and discuss the issue with me. We had a lengthy discussion about media bias as well as changes the paper had made to its ethics policy as a result of the incident (i.e., reporters are not to post political comments on websites -- the only problem, I told him, is they continue to hold the same points of view, they're just more hidden!).

Bottom line, they seemed like a responsive organization and if they hear from enough people it might help.

Left a detailed message on Memmott's voice mail!!

Also advised him to more critically analyze polling results from Gallup -- particularly results based on TINY subsets of likely voters with a margin of error at or above +/- 5!!!!

Doug, it is 3:20 CST and I just now got off of the phone with Mark Memmott. He was polite and very curious, how I heard of this. I told him I had read the article and already knew about the connection between Heinz-Kerry and Peaceful Tomorrows. I felt that the connection should definitely be printed or that the story was incomplete and leaning to the left.
He said he was, at that moment, doing research on the connection. Hopefully, he will see it through.
He also asked me ,if Rush had brought it up today, I said, he had not.
Hope this helps.

Here's an interesting slant on USA Today. I have a conservative buddy that used to work for USA Today (he left a while ago, but that is another story) My buddy says that the majority of USA Today's readership are, and I'll use his words, "White, gun-toting, Republican, businessmen." A good chunk of the readership are business men that are traveling. The only time I would look at a USA Today was when it was delivered to my hotel room door for free. I certainly won't pay to read it. Last year, when I was traveling extensively for work, I started asking hotels for an alternate news paper when I checked-in. Believe it or not, hotels are very accomodating to this request. If my friend's statement is true about the readership, it would only take a year or two to put USA Today under, or make it into a more conservative paper. That's if people stopped reading USA Today when they traveled, and requested other papers. Just a thought.

Once again, good job Freepers. Very impressed. Sorry I signed in too late to join in on the USA Freep).

It never ceases to amaze me that so called journalists working for major media don't know the facts before writing their articles. Naive me, I always thought that's what journalist did, dug up facts for a story. There really is no excuse for the media's laziness, except plain bias. Why should a housewife in Alpharetta GA know more about the story than the political editor at a major newspaper? Every time I call CNN I am told the same thing - "CNN is still researching this story".

maybe if enough freepers sent a copy of the story to their LOCAL papers, sooner or later mainstream would have to pick it up

"Our message to all politicians is, 'Keep your hands off Ground Zero,' " said David Potorti, of Cary, N.C., a member of Peaceful Tomorrows, one of the families' organizations. His brother Jim, 52, died at the World Trade Center. ---end excerpt---"

Incredible; and of course, 9/11 is not 'his' or 'theirs'.

Would gladly ask that they take their bleeding Leftist hearts back over to Afghanistan.

Meantime, I will e-mail USA Today. But it does not sound like these people can be shamed.

I just called the number and left a message for Memmott, leaving my phone number and asking him to call me back before stating my case. Surpsingly I was told no "Gwenn Foster" works there and was connected instead to a Denise Foster.
