He played a character on the old "Wise Guy" series. I think he was a record company mogal. His characters name was Isaac. He played opposite a Tim Curry character. In my opinion, it was the BEST mini-series the show ever did.

Dang! Really going to miss Paul's voice on "City Confidential."Same here -- that's the first thing I thought of when hearing about Winfield's death.

He was good in Terminator, especially where he lights a cigarette and already has one in his mouth. I also liked him as the unfortunate captain in "Star Trek: The Wrath of kahn."

The shot him him phasering himself, the scream, and the overall effect of the FX are just spectacular in that sequence. I don't know why Trek never used that as the default phaser killing from then on.
Must've cost a lot. But surely TNG or Enterprise can CGI it now.
Weird.

If you want to see his creepiest performance check out the movie Mikes Murder. I've never missed a City Confidential. He will be missed.

Wonderful actor -- I think hurt by the subtle racism of the media: "But, we're not looking for a black man for that part."

I also enjoyed both his Star Trek roles (old & new) - also very good as the corrupt judge, Larren Little, in the Harrison Ford movie Presumed Innocent.

May God bless him.

Quite sad, I enjoyed him in Terminator and recently the City Confidential show.I've listened to City Confidential many times and never recognized the wonderful voice. How great, an African-American beautifully narrating mostly white crime-stories. A classy guy.
