LANSING - John Ramsey, father of slain child pageant star JonBenet, is seriously considering a run for the Michigan House of Representatives.

Ramsey has established residency in Charlevoix, where he has long vacationed, and has indicated he wants to succeed term-limited state Rep. Ken Bradstreet, R-Gaylord, said Matt Resch, spokesman for House Speaker Rick Johnson.

What do you guys think about this?

He's a Republican! I say that he should go for it!

I'm not all that familiar with the case though.

"According to news reports, the Ramseys filed a $12 million federal lawsuit last year in Atlanta against Fox News Network for an allegedly defamatory report about the case."

Anybody got any more info on this guy? Now that I read more about it..he sounds like he's in it for the publicity.

Truth is stranger than fiction. As for the case involving his daughter. The government screwed up the case so bad it will never result in an arrest unless someone talks at some point. It also appears that the murder was done by someone in the home. The ransom note was rather fishy; it demanded an amount of money that was the same amount as one his company had to pay out at about the same time. IIRC, the mother is the strongest suspect. One writing examiner said it was similar to her writing while another said the match was inconclusive.

The only thing I know about John Ramsey is he is married to the chief suspect in the murder of his daughter.

ughhh...he and his wife are still suspected of having something to do with the death of their child. Just who we don't want to run.

Boulder (ie ultra liberal cops) ran this thing.

They blew it, like all liberal things. They blew it so blatantly that it's hard to describe. This was not a very hard case, foresnic-wise.

Boulder cops are the laughing stock of the planet.

You may be right. Patsy was the prime suspect early with some thoughts of the brother. Perhaps things have changed.

We don't need to be coddling criminals and murderers in our ranks. I say we distance ourselves from the guy.

The parents were more interested in making sure that they were covered than they were in advancing the investigation. They gave very limited cooperation with law enforcement. I don't know if they were guilty or not, (I personally don't think that they had anything to do with the crime itself) but they certainly did what I would have advised a guilty person to do.

My grandmother suspected from day one that it was one of JonBenet's brothers. I think you and her might be right.

They would be accomplices to the murder, just as worse as being the perpetrator of the crime.

Now we can add John Ramsey to the rumor list of who may replace Cheney on the ticket.

He should seriously forget it. Let's solve that very interesting murder of hid daughter IN his home when only 3 other people were there. Sick.

Isn't he the one who went through the house "cleaning up" while the first crack(ed) PD on the scene sat in the living room until he was done.
