Cheney, Hillary Trade Barbs

Vice President Dick Cheney and vice presidential prospect Hillary Clinton went toe-to-toe at Saturday night's Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, D.C., with the former first lady zeroing in on the job creation record of the Bush administration.

With Cheney sitting in the front row, Sen. Clinton quipped, "In the Clinton administration, we used to say in eight years, we've added more than 22 million new jobs."

She then advised, "You guys could say: 'Since 1993, our country has created 19 million new jobs.'"

In quotes picked up by the Miami Herald, the former first lady continued, "The Clinton administration also used to say it had 'moved millions from welfare to work.'" She said the Bush team could now boast, "We've made that journey round trip."

Sen. Clinton then turned her comedic wit to Halliburton, telling Gridiron guests, "The truth is, I know Vice President Cheney, and I know that he believes in the separation of the three powers: Kellogg . . . Brown . . . and Root."

When it was Cheney's turn, he returned some of the fire, telling the audience, "I always feel a genuine bond whenever I see Senator Clinton. She's the only person who's the center of more conspiracy theories than I am."

As a NYS resident, I'd prefer she take time out from her busy schedule to sit down, shut up, and try do her job until she can be replaced with someone focused on NYS and not a quest for the Presidency.

The Hildabeast strikes again - Opens her mouth and spews "no substance". Guess shes trying to make up for the Lou Dobbs program blunder she so naively fell into last week. TATATATATTATATA!!!

I'll bet Cheney's entire dinner consisted of rolaids and tums. No way could he have swallowed a bite with hildabeast in the same room. Poor man.
