They do. But since she had the strength to resist his beatings and put a stop to it, perhaps she will defy the statistics.

Statistics, yes.
Most abused women do choose men like their abusers.
But those statistics don't capture the content of the human heart. But there are those who statistically should be basket cases who are models of strength and courage.
The girl has been traumatized. She will need many prayers, and excellent friendship to come into her life, and counselling.
