Will we continue to see the labor force going down because after the Baby-boomers, the next generation is much smaller?
That might be true if we didn't have back to back to back amnesty for tens of millions of Illegals AND no border control.
The storm is coming
No Border - No Vote

Glad to hear your area is doing well Gail. Yesterday I heard that Ohio isn't doing well and manufacturing figures in prominantly. Not living there, I'm not sure if that is true or not. If it is true, that's unfortunate. It's a state with a lot of electorial votes.

The payroll survey does not count the surge in self-employment. The household survey has recorded a surge of 650,000 self-employed workers. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Relying on the Household Survey makes us look out of touch with the real situation out there. I lost my job in 2003. I've been looking for full time work ever since. But I didn't want to collect unemployment, and I don't like sitting on my butt, so I've been freelancing. According to the Household Survey, I'm part of this "surge" in self employment.
Yay for me. Except, I'm making less than half of what I made before, I'm spending all kinds of money on health insurance, and I'm still looking for a job.
MANY people are in a similar position. The Household Survey numbers look like a good talking point on the surface, but if you're in a position like me, you know it's baloney.
Oh, and by the way, the Household Survey itself recorded a loss of 265,000 jobs. http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm

"The Facts Show 2.4 Million Jobs Created Under Bush"
Why is it, if this is true that Marc Racicot is not on FNC right now jumping up and down hammering home this point. We need to get just as emotional as the dems are or we will lose those who are walking the fence when it comes to which way they will vote in November. If this fact is true, HEELLOOOOOOOOO, it takes the "jobs lost under Bush" arguement off the table!!! Let's go, start SCREAMING this from the rooftops.
I keep hearing from the repubs how "well, this is going to be a very close election, blah, blah, blah". It doesn't need to be, eliminate all of these crap arguements that the dems want to keep using!!!

MS just across the border from Memphis is adding 400-450 new jobs. I posted it of FR the other day. Our arena will be opening up soon and that will add a few more jobs. Workman's Comp is a big issue here like it is elsewhere..it's killing jobs.

Thanks for the additional comments. Workman's comp is killing us out here. We pay three times what other states do, and the recipients receive the same benefits or less. Hopefully Schwarzenegger will attack his issue next, as he said he would.

It was post #63:
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there was 135,999,000 people employed in Jan., 2001 (link) and 138,566,000 people employed in Jan., 2004 (link).

I have had people claim that the real complaint is the loss of manufacturing jobs. My reply is that figure began to decline in 1998
(link) and that President Bush inherited the problem.

I don't understand why you posted that to me. I was merely pointing out the facts, not making any suggestions as to a solution.

Why did moderator remove those posts? Must have been on wrong thread?

ROFLOL, yeah, he grew government to the point that most of that job creation was new government jobs. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics:
Within government, state government added 20,000 jobs in February, largely in state education. link
How did President Bush make the state governments increase their education employees?

Is this true? See my post #127.

CLINTON ECONOMY VS. BUSH ECONOMY
During Clinton's "Great Economy" back in 1996:
Unemployment was at 5.6%
Average wage was $11.82/hr.
Inflation was 3.3%
During George W. Bush's "miserable failure" economy of 2004:
Unemployment is at 5.6%
Average wage is $15.40/hr.
Inflation is 1.9%
So 5.6% unemployment is lousy today, because a Republican is in the White House? Funny, back in 1996, CNN said that 5.6% unemployment was LOW! Amazing how the spin changes, depending on who is in power.
The Dems, paleo-protectionists and the lamestream media don't want us to see the true picture, and realize that the Bush economy is pretty good, all things (terrorist attacks, war, etc.) considered.
Find out the rest, in CNN's own words, at this thread:
