Limbaugh Persecuted, Addicted Judge Skates

Palm Beach County Judge Robert Schwartz - who heard cases in the same jurisdiction now dealing with the matter of Rush Limbaugh's addiction case - was hooked on OxyContin and although removed from the bench, was never subjected to the kind of investigation now leveled at Limbaugh to determine if he obtained the pills legally, Matt Drudge revealed today.

According to the Drudge Report, 18 months ago Schwartz was "involuntarily retired" and removed from the bench after he checked himself into a treatment center for addiction to the painkiller OxyContin - the very same drug at the center of the Limbaugh probe.

A source told Drudge that Schwartz was hooked on the drug for eight years. He was removed from the bench in October 2002 only after he was unable to hold court, staying in his chambers for several hours a day.

Drudge added that the judge suffered from numerous psychological and emotional disorders, including anxiety, panic disorder and sleeping disorder.

"He was severely addicted to prescription pain killers," an insider told Drudge. "He probably got them from a variety of sources. But unlike Rush Limbaugh, he was never prosecuted! His records do not appear to have been seized nor were his doctors’ offices raided. Talk about friend of the court!"

Wrote Drudge: "News of the Palm Beach judge's ordeal appears to give credence to Limbaugh's claim that he is being selectively targeted."

Palm Beach County State Attorney Barry Krischer refused to comment Friday on the Schwartz/Limbaugh confusion.

Limbaugh, who publicly acknowledged his addiction to pain medication and completed a drug rehabilitation program, remains under investigation by Palm Beach County prosecutors for alleged doctor-shopping, a charge rarely if ever prosecuted.

Obviously he's a democrat, or a socialist, or a communist, probably an atheist as well. These kinds of people do not raise the ire of the other socialist, communist, atheistic, judges. Is anyone surprised?

'Bout time we start impeaching those in PUBLIC OFFICE for drug crimes, and also the lawbreaking.

Could there be a double standard here? I'm thinking so.

This is excellent news for the Limbaugh case. Proof positive that he is being unfairly singled out. Nothing could be better than a judge from Limbaugh's local court as an example.

There are tens of great examples out here in Hollywood also: stars that are reported (outed?) in the Enquirer as having a drug problem, including drugs that cannot at all be purchased legally, like cocaine or heroin, and the star is known to or admits checking into rehab. No one ever subpoenas their medical records or accuses them of any illegal activity.
