Had Hubble fulfilled it's mission, we would not be in such need of its successor, but you knew that right? Such wizards on this site, it's a just a wonder.....

Save it, genius.

From your home page, you may know something about flying, but from what you have posted on this thread, you are clueless when it comes to spacecraft, image processing, and astronomy.

When you say Hubble is just a camera, you are aware ALL astronomy involves the electromagnetic spectrum (with a few exceptions, such as tidal measurements due to gravity). What is the difference between a scientist peering into a microscope and one peering thru a telescope? Both are observing using photons and lenses.

The public has been fed a steady stream of PR and doctored, painted images and told that they were the real thing

Just because the Hubble digitally sends the images down a telemetry stream, that does not invalidate its data.

As Nonstatist pointed out, Hubble is far more than a simple optical camera. Think of the improvements that the servicing missions have accomplished. Hubble is an amazing instrument that is well worth the next series of upgrades. Not only does it accomplish amazing science, it is a marvel of engineering. The control law and control systems onboard are just incredible.

Sorry, thanks for playing. Nobody can be that aggressively ignorant or hostile to science without refusing to touch a computer, or even to wear clothes. I can't vouch for the clothes, but since you have evidently touched a computer, it's obvious that you're trolling. You were doing fine until you tipped your hand too far.
