I see that it will be possible for him to win. The media will relentlessly pound out negative story after negative story about the President. Every lost dog will be his fault. But no negative stories about John Kerry will make the front page or 6 PM newscast. I know a lot of people don't pay attention to the mass media anymore, but enough do to make me worried.

The media have already succeded in redefining a "bad" unemployment number to mean anything higher than 4 %. It will be interesting to watch (though sad and frustrating) as the media pivots 180 degrees should Kerry win and suddenly it'll be happy days again.

Same here- if the media weren't effective in changing minds, private businesses would not spend billions of dollars a year on advertising. It influences people.
