Sen. John Kerry is planning a hard-hitting presidential campaign between now and November that will allow no trip by President Bush to go without comment, nor any attack from the Bush-Cheney campaign to go unanswered.
"We have no illusions about the Republican attack machine and what our opponents have done in the past, and what they may try to do in the future. But I know that together, we are equal to this task. I am a fighter," the Massachusetts senator said Tuesday night after securing the Democratic presidential nomination by capturing nine of the 10 primaries and caucuses at stake.

Mr. Kerry made wide use of surrogates, usually members of Congress. it would be nice if the Republicans in Congress would occasionally back up President Bush.

Attack Machine??? HUh?
Did they not just see the 3 warmest, fuzziest, softest campaign ads ever run by a Presidential Campaign? Bush's "vicious attack machine" just ran saying how americans are good, honest, hardworking people... those brutal republican bastards!

I would believe "hard throwing" over "hard hitting". We know he has the ability to "throw" things such as fake medals over a wall.

The fact that Kerry's campaign, along with the Democrats' tools in the press, is going into over drive over the supposed upcoming Republican attack machine must mean they are preparing for some really aweful stuff to come up.
Remember the last time you heard so much about the "Republican attack machine" President Clinton was trying to deflect attention from his purgery and obstruction of justice felonies...
Thwart: I thwart I saw a putty tat.

His campaign reported raising $1.2 million in less than 24 hours since the end of the Super Tuesday contests. That breaks the record of $800,000 raised in 24 hours by former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean last year and the $1 million raised by Republican Sen. John McCain in 2000. OK, so we have a "hat trick" for big spending losers now.

This may be part a political use of the white house's "shock and awe" strategy. In Iraq they raised Saddam's fear that they were about to unload an overwhelming and unbeleivable bombing campaign on him. Then they sent ground troops in after dropping only one missile strike on a bunker. Saddam was caught totally off guard.
Similarly, they convinced everybody that Kerry was about to be destroyed in an unprecedented barrage of Attack ads.. but instead ran a few soft, fuzzy ads at first. They've caught people off guard, but where exactly are htey going with this?

Mr. Kerry also made news yesterday by naming Jim Johnson to lead his search for a vice-presidential nominee. Mr. Johnson was a senior adviser to former Vice President Walter F. Mondale,..... Bwahahahahaha, so Mr. Johnson is going from "no personality Mondale" to "long face Kerry"?
So far all I see is more fuel every day for my assumption of another Republican landslide in '04!

Hysterical. Kerry and the demos have done nothing but attack Bush, while he has held his peace. Today Bush unveiled 3 "positive" ads.
Yep, those nasty meanspirited Republicans are attacking those sweet innocent Demos.

Johnson is going from "no personality Mondale" to "long face Kerry"? Is this the guy who picked Geraldine Ferraro to be Fritz' ditz?

This election so far is making me feel like a pitcher in the world series with a three and three standing in the seventh game, that is throwing a no hitter in the bottom of the seventh, and the opposing team chooses to forfeit the game!

Yep, those nasty meanspirited Republicans are attacking those sweet innocent Demos. The statement of the intellect challenged that keep up on politics only by watching the alphabet network news feeds from time to time just to keep the bottom of their political thirst quenching container damp.

Mr. Kerry also made news yesterday by naming Jim Johnson to lead his search for a vice-presidential nominee. Mr. Johnson was a senior adviser to former Vice President Walter F. Mondale, has been chairman of Fannie Mae, and is vice chairman of a merchant banking firm in the District. One more important reason to more stringently regulate Fannie Mae, which has become a GSE and financial behemoth that tells Washington what to do rather than the other way around. It is long past time to pull the implicit government guarantee from both Fannie and Freddie, before they dump huge losses on the U.S. taxpayer. Greenspan finally crossed this tripwire last week, thank goodness.

Sen. John Kerry is planning a hard-hitting presidential campaign between now and November that will allow no trip by President Bush to go without comment, nor any attack from the Bush-Cheney campaign to go unanswered. Bush should use some of Kerry's quotes and then sit back and watch Kerry attack his own words
