Nearly 200 illegal immigrants found in drop house
(Phoenix-AP) -- It's getting to be a weekly occurrence. A drop house discovered in the Phoenix area crammed with illegal immigrants.
Phoenix police today discovered nearly 200 illegal immigrants inside an upscale property Wednesday.
About 100 to 150 people were inside the south Phoenix home and an additional 20 to 30 in a guest house on the same property, said Phoenix police Detective Tony Morales. Up to 50 additional people fled the scene.
The group in the drop houses included men, women, teenagers, a child, and a pregnant woman who was taken to a hospital as a precaution, Morales said.
Officers went to the home about 7:15 a.m. after getting a call from a neighbor about suspicious activity. The caller reported vehicles and large groups of people going in the house and said it happened every Wednesday, Morales said.
Trash was littered inside the drop house and the stench of urine and feces permeated, he said. No food or furniture were found inside the home, which is surrounded by a tall block fence.
Offices also discovered at least five passenger vans on the property, some with California plates, Morales said.
Phoenix police have discovered at least six drop houses in the last two weeks, he said.
"Once again it shows the magnitude of the problem," Morales said. "These are the ones that we're finding. Thankfully, citizens are calling police."
Drop houses get the name because illegal immigrants are dropped off there by smugglers to await transportation.

How could that idiot do less when nothing is being done now? You'd be surprised. A Democrat could do irreparable damage by helping to pass laws that guarantee safe passage, protection and free medical care.
Things are bad, but they could be worse.
Add homosexual marriage, even worse molly coddling of criminals, giving up sovereignty to the UN, complete capitulation to fanatic Islamicists, appointing 3 more Liberals to the Supreme Court and even more power to the Marxist teachers' unions, and I think you've got something there.

What do you think Kerry would do about illegal immigration?About the same as Bush, so what's the difference?

But many people here are blaming Bush for the illegal problem, as if it hadn't existed for the past 20 years or more.
Bush inherited a major problem, he also had a great deal of more urgent matters to attend to, such as going after the terrorists to keep us alive, and get the economy out of recession, yet people are bashing him, even though he has been making progress, but it's not a problem that can realistically be solved overnight.
I am against illegal immigration, I think the Federal government should be doing more, but I also have enough sense, to know that realistically it's can't be solved overnight by anybody.
Bush is doing a lot more, than any Democrat would, about illegal immigration, and he is doing a great deal more for the country.
I am getting really tired, that some people have a Pavlovian reaction. You say "illegal Immigration", they say "it's all Bush's fault". Their logic is no different, than the logic of the Democrats' who blame Bush for The Great Flood.

Bush is doing a great deal to stop illegal immigration You are right. I continuously catch little snippets (mostly on Fox news) about new programs being enacted to catch illegals crossing the border. One of the programs involved air surveillance and paratroopers being dropped into the most remote areas. Yet we never hear about this in the mainstream media and it's barely a tag line on Fox news.
Yet while more is being done to stop more illegals from crossing over, little is being done to catch and deport those already here. I think we can agree that Bush is soft on the illegals already here, mostly because he believes the myth that they are mostly hardworking people taking the jobs that Americans won't do.
I had a stack of 14 fund-raising letters from the GOP and I mailed them all back with a letter stating that I would not contribute any more money until Bush and the Republican party abandoned Bush's work-visa program. Rather than create new laws, I encouraged them to enforce the laws already on the books. Current laws demand that all illegals be deported and that anyone employing them be heavily fined.
Why make new laws that would require an even greater bureaucracy to enforce than the simpler laws that are currently not enforced?

NOT SO. Read this:
Bush budget adds hundreds of immigration enforcement jobs
http://www.govexec.com/dailyfed/0204/020304p1.htm The budget would add staff to the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement's detention and removals branch, which expels illegal aliens from the United States. The unit extradited 142,008 aliens in fiscal 2003, but faces a daunting backlog of immigration cases. Roughly 400,000 aliens have fled after receiving a final order of deportation from an immigration judge.
The Bush budget would fund 30 new fugitive operations teams, which are dedicated solely to apprehending and deporting alien absconders. ICE currently has 18 such teams. It also would provide 269 new immigration enforcement agents for the institutional removal program, where criminal aliens in federal and state prisons are released into ICE custody. Because of staffing shortfalls, ICE now taps its criminal investigators to help staff this program.

I was QUOTING DR. ALAN KEYES>
See link:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1071872/posts COLMES: We continue with Alan Keyes. Ambassador Keyes, as a fiscal conservative, as a true conservative yourself, do you have some problems with the spending of this administration?
KEYES: Oh, I sure do--and I wouldn't want to give the impression that I don't have other problems with this administration on some areas where I think that the president has fallen short of the kinds of things that I really think are needed in some areas.
But I also wouldn't want to give the impression that I think that anything can be more decisive for the American people right now than the question of our national survival in the face of the most insidious threat this nation has ever faced.
In the face of that, I think a lot of us are going to be putting our other issues behind those issues that have to do with the survival of this nation in wartime.
COLMES: Are you saying there's only one issue in this campaign, that other issues don't matter? Because, if you look at what the American people are saying, a lot of issues do matter, and to many conservatives, the president's not measuring up on those issues.
KEYES: Well, see, I think that the one problem--and the media, I think, is looking at all these other things because they've got to have stories. When people get into that voting booth and confront the reality of our situation, as we have had to confront it now since the terrible events in 2001, I think a lot of people are going to find that they are reminded of who they are and how they felt at that moment when we confronted the abyss and knew that we had to measure up. That is still our situation, and when they finally get to the voting booth, I think that's going to be the one that decides their minds.

I meant in general. Generally speaking, it is important for a president's supporters to communicate to him what they want on a constant basis.
In fact, it is important now, because he may very well lose this election, especially if he doesn't veto the weapons bill, but I'm not sure. I really can't tell from here. What do you think?
It's clear that many of his supporters have deserted him, at least on FR, which is disheartening, to say the least.
I strongly feel that our best bet is with the current president, for many reasons, one of which is the way he's dealt with the war on terror.
To bring a Democrat into office at this time, especially a hollow shell such as Kerry, would be a terrible mistake. The man is clearly not up to defending us against an enemy he doesn't believe exists.

You're right. Kerry would continue Bush's massive matricula-card stealth amnesty and push, like Bush, to legalize illegal aliens also with an overt amnesty.
So under either Bush or Kerry, the Clinton-Bush policies of massive third-world population transfers into the United States will continue and likely accelerate.
Neither man deserves to be in the White House. That said, it would be better to have Bush in to appoint better judges, so conservatives at least catch a few breaks as the nation slides down the drain.

I think people who bash Bush here NEVER supported him in the first place. They are the ones who voted for Buchanan or stayed home and almost gave us Gore in 200, and voted for Perot or stayed home and gave us 8 years of Clinton. They never were Bush's "base". They are just the permanent whiners, who try to run the country by the "tyranny of the minority", and keep being useful idiots for the Democrats.

I think you're ALMOST right, but not quite. I do see a fair amount of discord here. Consider that a lot of those people were banned in '02 in the great purges here on FR. But it still comes up with "old-timers". I don't know, I don't have any statistics, but I do feel that we MUST hang together or we shall surely hang apart.
As I have said many times before, I will hold my nose and vote for Bush AGAIN.
Does he promise, much less, deliver all I want? NO. Is he better than his opponent? YES!
I am a firm believer in voting for the lesser of evils. Politics is all about compromise, not to mention INCREMENTALISM.
Incrementalism is how we got the Liberal culture of death, and is how we will get rid of it; NOT by demanding a 30-year development to be reversed in one election cycle.
Republican rule #1: is our candidate electable? If yes, run him. If no, like Bob Dole: HELL NO!
