And look at Rockefeller and Byrd's vote. In West Virginia? How many hunters there. And Feingold is two faced as always. Votes against the AWB, but gets the low profile ammo ban(WORSE) in. Kohl's at least consistantly bad. Bob Graham and BILL Nelson suck as usual. Dayton showed his true colors as well. The rest are the usual suspects.
This one is so hard-core, even Bingaman, Daschle, DeWine, and LEAHY voted against it.
Kennedy - In a recent report, the ATF identified three, .223 and the 7.62 caliber rifles, as the ones most frequently encountered by police officers. These high-capacity rifles, the ATF wrote, pose an enhanced threat to law enforcement, in part because of their ability to expel particles at velocities that are capable of penetrating the type of soft body armor typically worn by law enforcement officers.
Another rifle caliber, the 30.30 caliber, was responsible for penetrating three officers' armor and killing them in 1993, 1996, and 2002. This ammunition is also capable of puncturing light-armored vehicles, ballistic or armored glass, armored limousines, even a 600-pound safe with 600 pounds of safe armor plating.
Kerry - I'm going to kick your sorry ass all over Michigan.

Maybe .22's would still be allowed under this........
Cool! Makes me love my Winchester even more. Up yours, commies!
Until they call .22 cartridges, "Saturday Night Special Ammunition".
The whole senate did a flip flop on the bill and killed it
Kerry took a break from campaigning on the most important campaign day of the year to fly in a rush to DC to vote:
a) For the AWB renewal;
b) For ending gun shows as we know them; and
c) For a ban on most/all centerfire rifle ammo.
Let's shout from the hilltops that Kerry hasn't cast a recorded vote for about a YEAR, because he's been so busy trying to get Bush's job...but banning guns and ammo is even more important to him than becoming President!!!
The best part is that the stupid scumbag then voted against the whole bill, even with the AWB and gunshow-killing amendments, and therefore showed up for NOTHING! His vote never even made a difference (even his and Edwards' together meant nothing on any of the votes cast).
Kerry is a big loser on this day, no matter what happens at the polls. He lost among those gun owners who harbored any hope that he was pro-gun because he awkwardly killed a pheasant dressed in brand-new hunting clothes whil using someone else's very expensive shotgun.
I own 7 guns, including a mini-14 that would have been effected by this amendment, but what makes its ammo "centerfire"?
Looks like an excellent RNC campaign commercial in the making. LOL! Hello Eff'n Kerry, do you remember the 1994 mid-term elections? You anti-gun-freaks got rolled. :)
Any cartridge that has a primer in the center as opposed to rimfire ammo. Yes your mini-14 would have been effected.
