Testimony of Bryant's accuser delayed

EAGLE, Colo. - Kobe Bryant's attorneys went on the offensive yesterday, making controversial allegations about the sexual activity of the woman who has accused the Los Angeles Lakers star of rape. The defense said during a pretrial hearing and in a court filing that the woman has had sex with two prosecution witnesses and that she also had intercourse only hours after her encounter with Bryant.
Early yesterday, Judge Terry Ruckriegle denied a motion by the prosecution to limit defense questioning of the woman. But after the lunch recess, the judge rescinded that decision.
It was not entirely clear why the judge had a change of heart, but some observers suggested he might have taken exception to defense attorney Hal Haddon's written motion.
Acting on a request from Eagle County District Attorney Mark Hurlbert, Ruckriegle said he would take the motion under advisement and postponed the woman's testimony until at least March 24, the date of the next scheduled hearing.
Haddon had told Ruckriegle that swabs of semen taken from the neck, thigh and vaginal area of the 19-year-old accuser during an examination 15 hours after the alleged rape were from a man other than Bryant.
Hurlbert objected to the comment, prompting an extended private conversation between the judge and attorneys.
Haddon did not mention the woman's sexual conduct again, but in a court document filed over the weekend and made public yesterday, he offered several reasons why it is relevant and should be an exception to the state's rape shield law.

That does not mean they are from someone else. They are from someone OTHER than Kobe Bryant. I'd guess they were from a man.

The prosecution would not proceed with the case if this stuff had any merit. Saying there are 3 samples and only one matched Kobe does NOT mean there are 3 men. It means only 1 sample managed to pass statistical muster and the other two did not. That does not mean they are from someone else. Actually, none of them matched Kobe. He didn't leave any DNA, since he never ejaculated.
There are at least three men: Herr (to which the accuser has admitted), Bryant, and the bellhop.
You can kid yourself, but Hurlburt was pressured into bringing this case, and he is going to have to drop it, or be humiliated if he takes it to trial.

The prosecution would not proceed with the case if this stuff had any merit. The sad thing is you like so many others believe that the case must be rightous just because charges were brought. If I were a malicious person I would hope that you and every person like you would be charged with a crime at least once in your life. So you can get a better perspective of the criminal justice system, which should reaffirm your belief that the innocent always go free.

I don't wish to pile on, but sinkspur, Howlin, Smogger and I have followed this case. NONE of the DNA is from Kobe.

It is absolutely sickening the way you are persecuting this poor girl. I think she is a poor girl --- I don't think she was raped but I think she has a serious mental disorder that makes her have sex with any man whose room she can get into --- Kobe deserves what he got --- after the movie "Fatal Attraction" --- celebrities should know that a woman providing easy sex could be mentally off. He gets what he deserves for having sex with strangers, he's very lucky he didn't catch some serious disease and give it to his wife and future children. He's a whore too.

I am trying to keep an open mind regarding Kobe's guilt or innocence, but things like this make me sit up. I smell a rat.

I noticed something tonight that gave me pause; Dan Abrams started referring to her tonight as "the accuser," as opposed to "the victim," as he had been calling her.

There is not one speck of Kobe Bryant's DNA in/on the sample swabs and/or her clothing.

I think when it comes down to it, someone like this is probably a victim but of mental illness and pathological lying. I knew a woman who told me once after his sister was in a car accident and coma for several months, she began lying and coming on sexually to any man in a room with her. I doubt someone like this accuser has any real control.

And the sad thing about that woman's sister is that before the head injury she was not like that.
This woman --- Kobe's accuser overdosed on drugs, she may have brain injuries or just be one of those kinds that can't help but injure herself. A real "looking-for-mr. goodbar" type.

How do you know this to be fact?Because I've read the court documents and listened to the reporters discussing the testimony in the courtroom.
