Get the GOP to stop putting "moderates" and "RINOS" on their tickets and you wouldn't be having this discussion right now.

Its hard to buy guns of your choice at a reasonable choice when there are no manufacturers and dealers left.
These are my rights too. I own an AR-15, as well as other guns. I have a stake in this.
IMHO, it should be passed in the Senate, stripped in committee where we have control and then put into law without the ammendments.
Protecting the entire industry trumps the AWB

Do we know who the members of the committee are?

Well, they just as well tack on every other amendment they can think of on this bill now that they have rendered it a TOTAL PIECE OF GARBAGE!
They just couldn't leave the damn thing alone could they.

Sarcasm is a scalpel, not an axe.
Stop pushing for "party over principle". The GOP will get the idea.

Maybe Bush will veto this crap because it's not in the format he wanted. One can only hope.

Of course not, the dems aren't going to listen to Bush and even if he had not said anything, they would have tacked them on anyway.

Maybe if I could quit hearing how gun owners want to give power back to the anti's because of the actions of ten people I wouldn't feel this way.
The GOP already has the idea. We have a pro-gun majority in the House but not in the Senate. That was repeated over and over since the last election. The strategy has been the AWB has to die in the House. That was repeated over and over. We had a liberal in the White House. Today, we have a moderate. That was repeated over and over.
It's amazing that posters are finally waking up on the day we lose at the Senate level to a situation that's been repeated for years. It tells me how active they have been for their Second Amendment Rights.

It's equally hard to buy guns of your choice when the government outlaws the guns of your choice. The manufacturers are out of business either way, if they get sued out of business, or if the government bans their products. I don't see much difference.

Sounds like your position is, "I got mine when I could. Too bad for anyone who was too young or too stupid or whatever to get theirs back when they were legal."

Lets give them a little credit for being active today, but only if they call their Senators and renew their memberships in the NRA and GOA.

I can't believe how ticked off I am about this. Especially at the RINOs! I'm thinking about e-mailing them ideas for other amendments they can tack on this bill now. Like:
A special tax break for homosexuals who are living with illegal marriage certificates.
Amnesty for terrorist who enter the country but promise to vote for Kerry.
On-line voter registration for the dead.
It can get ridiculous as it wants now, so why not take it all the way.

No. What we were hearing, particularly here, was "VOTE GOP, becuase everything else is a vote for a Dem".
We friggin' WARNED everyone about voting for RIINO's. Now we are being proved correct.

It's a veto pen (I think, it's been so long my memory might be playing tricks on me).
And I think that's one of the things Der Slickmeister forgot to turn over to President Bush's team back during the transition in January of 2001.
