Aren't the chances a lot higher than 1 in 1,000? It seems I recall some stats formula that would drive the number higher, but stats was a long time ago and my mind may just be wandering.

Either way, I agree that this is inappropriate for this movie. Putting the mark of the beast (anti-christ) on a ticket to a movie that realistically depicts the death of Christ is unnerving at best!

Eh, just thought about it, and I -know- some wiseass is going to come along and say "1 in 10,000".

Sure - the odds that the Pick 4 will have that day's date on any given day is 1 in 10,000. But consider that the date in question is the same number all the way across. Now, there's only about 11 dates like that in a given -century-... multiply that by 1 in 10,000, and now you start getting some pretty nasty odds :)

Only if that roll was pre-printed with the sequence number. And if so, that's surely a fair probability, given my experiences at movie ticket windows of late. But, for years now, all the numbers I have seen on tickets are all computer generated. *shrug*

Let's look at a scenario about how computer-generated tickets might be numbered.

Let's say that the three digit number preceding the ticket numbers represents the number of films shown in that theater, either for the year or for another, perhaps longer, time period.

First film would be 001. Second film would be 002, and so on. If the Passion was the 666th film, a ticket number might be something like 666-123. Another ticket for the same showing would be 666-124.

As someone who knows computers VERY well, this is a likely scenario.

As someone who is not looking for conspirators in every moving theater computer, I think his is just a silly coincidence.

With a three digit prefix, the chance of it coming out "666" is the same as 123, 444, or 736---1 in a 1000. That doesn't mean there is nothing to this. It just means that discounting chance is not so easy.

Most of the ones I've seen are pre-printed, with the only thing getting printed at the time of sale was the movie name, time and amount. I suppose satan might have been able to figure out when the movie was going to show, and rigged the tickets, or a demon-spawned leftist controlled by the dark one...who knows...
