She is refering to HPV and it needs to be remembered that HPV is the direct cause of more than 98% of all cervical cancers.

I had a wonderful sister-in-law who died in 1992 from the ravages of lung cancer which had started as cervical cancer. She contracted the cervical cancer as a result of HPV which she realized she contracted because of her promiscuous behavior in high school and in the years following. She was adamant that her daughter realize the dangers of that kind of lifestyle.

Her marriage to my brother was her second one. We loved her dearly and miss her still. It is important that kids realize the dangers of what they think is just fun behavior.

One doesn't have to be promiscuous. My dear sister's husband cheated on her regularly. He brought her home the "gifts" of Herpes and HPV. She also got cervical cancer from the HPV. She got hers early, and is okay.

I am sorry to hear about your sister in law. How sad.
