The Massachusetts Democrat, looking to stretch his delegate lead in Tuesday's primary election in California and voting in nine other states, said he would add 40,000 military personnel and 200,000 police and firefighters to America's ranks. The CIA, moreover, would assume the undisputed lead in intelligence efforts and would launch "a major initiative in public diplomacy" to push "the next generation of Islamic youth" toward democracy, he said.

And he would veto any bill that crossed his desk with funds to support these measures.

While Kerry asserted Friday that military families have had to pay for their own body armor, the Bush campaign said that he voted against a body armor spending measure just last year.

I was in the U.K. last month on business. The BBC was just gearing up an assault on Tony Blair based on the lack of sufficient body armor for the troops. The press found a soldier who had written home stating that he had had to give up his body armor to soldiers who were stationed further toward the front. This soldier was later killed. (They never stated whether it was a situation where body armer would have helped.)

The BBC had the widow on TV demanding "accountability" from the defense secretary. "Somebody has to take responsibility!" We heard it during every news broadcast for a week.

I was expecting a similar campaign back here, but I guess the press found out that too many of the Democrat presidential candidates had come down on the "wrong" side of the vote.

He also promised to make the United States "energy independent" from the Middle East within 10 years "so our sons and daughters will never have to fight and die for it."

Even though I hated Clintons politics, he never seemed like a prick to me. This guy Kerry has all of Clintons bad qualities, and is an as@shole to boot. Energy independant in 10 years my ass. His plan probably involves a Federal car tax so huge, that people wont be able of afford a vehicle, there by rendering us "energy independant".

The CIA, moreover, would assume the undisputed lead in intelligence efforts and would launch "a major initiative in public diplomacy" to push "the next generation of Islamic youth" toward democracy, he said.

In other words, Kerry wants to disrupt the focus of the CIA from anti-terror operations (and our national security in general) so he can try to win over Muslim youth by making empty promises he has no intention of following through on? I mean, why should anyone believe Kerry will stand behind the propaganda his CIA releases if he isn't willing to stand up for anything else? Why should those Islamic youths believe anything he says?

Basically he would do all the things that would have been impossible if he had been on the winning side on votes on military programs over the last 20 years.

Sen. John Kerry on Friday...said President Bush has "fallen short" on his vow to protect Americans after the 2001 terrorist attacks.

How can he even SAY this?

appoint "a special envoy the quality of Bill Clinton"

So Kerry plans to fight the war on terror with lying, draft-dodging, horndogs? The Dems better get some of their welfare mammas to a fertility clinic, quick!

If someone sent Bill Clinton to my country as a "Special Envoy", I would consider it an act of War.

Ed Gillespie is ahead of the Kerry's camp on this one. When Terry attempted to go after the president because the loved ones on military in action have to buy their own body armor, Ed's come back was Kerry voted against the bill that would have supplied the body armor for them.

Many of us FReepers here are well aware Kerry voted against the body armor, and now the parents of these brave soldiers are having to pay for the body armor themselves. The Democrats should be ashamed they gutted the military all the while The Bent One was in office. McAwful got slammed onto the mat over this on Fox News Sunday by Gillespie and Chris Wallace. The media needs to be hammering away at the Democratic wannabe's over this, rather than giving those 4 dingbats, especially Kerry, who I know voted against arming our troops, a freakin' pass.

Kerry said his CIA chief would be "a true director of national intelligence with real control of intelligence personnel and budgets."

LOL! Probably some bespecaled, homosexual, recent graduate of Berkeley who majored in Accounting.
