"Are you afraid that Jesus Christ and his principles are going to have a national/global renaissance? Are you afraid the film is going to assist a Judeo/Christian effort to bring truth and dignity back to this country? Are you afraid that righteousness is once again going to be re-introduced into our land before you secularly sink it?" "Are you afraid that biblical absolutes will be strongly resurrected into the public arena and thus potentially ruin your randy relativism? Are you afraid of personal accountability and responsibility in an age of blame shifting and bovine scatology? Are you afraid that the moral law is going to wreck your amoral life?"
Bingo!

Easy turbo, in the Gospels Jesus is shown to have been writing in the sand at one point. It is never revealed what it is that He writes, but a common idea, through tradition is that it was a drawing of a fish, an early Christian symbol. From watching the film, I saw what looked to be the beginnings of a fish as well.

Is this person giving away details of a movie to people who haven't seen it, without warning?
tsk... tsk... tsk...

"I am convienced these lilberals don't know about truth" Oh, they recognize truth alright....and THAT is the problem. It is like a cross to a vampire....or holy water to demons. They are not of the truth or the light, so they can't bear it.
"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." (John 3:19)

>>So what are you saying? That Mel is a Nazi, or that Jesus is?
Neither. What I'm saying is that Mel seemed to be implying a connection between seditious members of the Sanhedrin and the Swastika.
As if Jesus was saying to the Sanhedrin, "I know who you are" - and that's one of the reasons they hated him. He knew their sedition.

"this movie is all about making money, and not a spiritual phenomenon." And if that is the case that sets Mel apart from the rest of Hollywood? Sounds a lot like the pot calling the kettle black.

I've got to see the movie before I read anymore about it. If you have seen it already...ssssshhhhhhh. You are not supposed to give away the details.

Good point. Christians are not about to go berserk and take out their frustrations on modern day Jews because of the crucifixion of Jesus. I mean, if Christians are REALLY steamed about persecution, wouldn't they be going after modern day Romans because ancient day Romans fed Christians to the lions?

I've heard it was the 10 Commandments.
That makes perfect sense when you consider His next words were "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."....:)

I didn't even see the second S - just thought the arm motion implied it. The scene was was very short.
The context where they flashed back to this scene seemed to reinforce my perception - but for the life of me, I can't remember where they flashed back from. Do you remember?

...they're focusing on the "greed" aspect of this movie. If they [the left] is focusing on the "greed", it is because they are jealous of the success of the movie.
I heard on Friday (Limbaugh?) that given the choice between ideology and money, the opinion is that the leftists in
H'wood will almost always abandon the ideology.

From watching the film, I saw what looked to be the beginnings of a fish as well.I always like the idea that Jesus was writing the names of the accusers, along with the women they had cheated with. This would account for why the dudes all dropped their stones and left in a hurry, before Jesus wrote their name. It's just speculation, but I like it.

Didn't Mel Gibson's depiction of Herod's court bear an uncanny resemblance to the Clinton Whitehouse?

Hey, I just asked my daughter! She only remembers 1 S being drawn too..and the scene itself was a flash back. That made us both remember that is was the mob scene where the prostitute was being stoned for her sins. It was in the context of when mary the prostitute remembered Jesus saving her from the mob.
Do you think at some point, in real life, the body ever became numb to the pain at all?
