I don't think anything is safe with congress in session!

I believe Kennedy’s amendment should have been declared unconstitutional and thrown out and maybe the drunken swimmer be put up for impeachment for proposing such drivel.

You forgot, tarred, feathered and ridden out on a rail.

Meanwhile back in the real world, the NRA is fighting for a clean bill, Kennedy's amendment has to be defeated and failing that, repeat, FAILING THAT, the Craig amendment should be passed.

The Gun Mfrs Liability Protection Act should pass as a clean Bill with the amendments removed. Please call your Senators with special attention to Majority Leader Frist.

That's why I dropped my membership to NRA years ago and now support GOA, RKBA, etc.

I have a sneaking suspicion none of the above are true.

Agree wholeheartedly, but that's been the NRA's MO since at least 1934, when they managed to "compromise" on the National Firearms Act,

Bud the NRA was not a Gun rights organization back then. It was centered around the shooting sports.

The commie-socialists of FDR instigated the 2nd Ammendment infringement, to restrict firearmms from citizens, using gangsters as the convenient pretext, just like the AWB after the Kali cityhall and schoolyard shootings.

Demo's limo's must be made safe from armed citizens. Solids are on the block; Barnes had to quit their pistol solids some years ago even tho' their .44's were excellect for bear.

We're facing more BATFing so politicians and JBTs will be more safe from American citizens. They are going after our kenetic weapons.

Sorry you don't believe me (that I dropped my NRA membership and now support other 2nd amendemnt organizations), but it's true. I just feel that there are other (better) organizations which defend my 2nd amendment rights. No NRA "flame" intended, that just my choice.

a .30-30 is a weak round, and can't penetrate much of anything except light skin and tissue. If it hits solid bone it may brake the bone, but the bullet will be so disfigured that any further pentration is all but impossible. A .30-30 round was not intended for penetration; it was intended for expansion.

Dude it ain't an "ought-six" but it will certainly go through a bulletproof vest easily. The 30-30 has plenty of power.

Really! After reading all the comments, this bill should not be passed. More gun control by attached amendments, is not worth the cost. This bill has to be clean or no bill at all. This is unreal! Congress you all deserve to be voted out nor do you deserve gun owners trust.

Given as I've never fired a .30-30 at a bullet-proof vest, I'll have to take your word for it. I have, though, shot a 150-grain .30-30 (roundnose) at a 2-by-8 at 100 yards and it didn't penetrate all the way through that, but it sure flattened out a bunch.
