GENEVA, Switzerland, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- A study by Switzerland's Logitech International has found most U.S. working people are not happy with the cubicle that passes for office space these days.
The computer peripherals company's survey of 1,003 U.S. offices worker found 42 percent of them graded their work space design a C, CNET News reported.
Another 10 percent rated their cubicle or office a D, and 4 percent gave it an F. Only 6 percent gave their space an A.
Lack of privacy was the top annoyance cited by those surveyed. Other irksome features mentioned by many included "not enough shelves to put things", "no window" and "too much clutter."
Those surveyed spent an average of 37.5 hours a week in their workspace.
"Whether because of clutter, lack of personal input, or poor computer systems, U.S. office workers are often displeased or see room for improvement with the state of their workspace," Brenda Batenburg, senior manager of market research for Logitech, said.

LOL! These guys have never worked in a bullpen...

Isn't that the truth. The only thing I don't like about my cubicle is no window. Otherwise, no complaints from me, I'm just glad to have a job.

It's kind of rough out there, I've been laid off twice in the past seven months, although the second time was temporary. The cut money from the budget was magically found to keep me when they realized how much work they have to do in 2004 and beyond. Good luck.

Thanks. I've got a consulting gig right now. They are making noises about hiring me when they can. Time will tell.

LOL....at my husband's office they refer to their cubes as smaller than the Guantanimo prisoner cells....cause they are!

Saw your tag line. You need a web cam...

Sounds like me, I'm on a year contract until March, 2005. I'll know by Dec if they are going to hire me permanently. Kind of scary.

I made a choice to never ever work in a "cubicle" ever, I rather die.

Oddly enough, I'm not scared. Dunno why. I have every reason to be, but I'm not.

I only get kind of nervous if I really think about it. Today was supposed to be my last day, several people who hadn't heard the news that I was staying until today came by and told me that they would work hard to keep me there. I do know I'm supposed to be there right now, so I'm just going with the flow. Things will work out the way they're supposed to...

Believe me, with the extra 20 (okay, 35) pounds, it's not all that pretty a sight.

If you ever hit this neck of the woods this time of the year, you should check out
The Florida Renaissance Fest. My wife and I head there a couple of times while it's here. Nice weather, great costumes and yes, we dress the part. She's a "lady" and I'm a Medieval drunk. Well, it works for me...

So instead of looking like Calista Flockhart (sp?) you look like Marilyn Monroe. This is a problem?

Type casting?

You're a good man for that single choice.
