Some of the folks here even had built their decks around huge evergreen trees. The trees were so dry they literally exploded!! The greenies have always howled about logging. The foresty service has warned of this for years. I guess it has to happen before people believe it.

It was the same sort of wrong-headed policies, such as refusal to keep firebreaks and fire access roads open and refuaal to conduct controlled burns during the Clinton administration, that resulted in the mega fires in the US.
