Stangely enough they never understand that children of divorce look to the Child support payments as a sign that the absent parent still loves them. I often wonder when money is tight, and the Parent has to tell the child I'm sorry we can't afford this or that, or mac and cheeze is the meal s for a week, the absent parent wonders why the child doesn't care about them. It's called what goes around comes around. But then if the parent doesn't care whether their child grows up secure and happy, don't pay the support. and GO TO JAIL.

That's the value put on a lot of children today: how much money each per month the lazy mother can get for them. That is what these children hear from month to month: whether or not the father paid the designated amount, whether or not the mean government gave more money or benefits for them through the welfare check. And we wonder about the emptiness of our children's souls, when their mothers' have already put dollar values on them. God bless the children.

I can tell you really aren't familiar with the child support issue. Fathers in the US have always had the highest rate of payment of child support in the world, simply because economic conditions in the US have allowed it. The primary reason some fathers are behind in payments or don't pay is because they are not able to pay as much as they've been ordered to pay -- not because they don't care about their children or are genetically irresponsible.

The reason we have a federal child support enforcement program that is strongly supported by all state governments, is because it provides more than 4 billion dollars in annual funding. It's your tax money, and all the people who are sucking it down without giving anything back are sayin' --- thank sucker!

I'd say very few (as a %) divorced fathers feel this way.

Most men do not feel that their responsibility ends and until you have had to walk in their shoes, maybe you shouldn't pass judgement.

Child Support Laws are nothing more than the governments way of getting their hands and influence further into the American Family and has had no impact whatsoever on whether the children get the financial assistance that they need. It has however enriched the government coffers and created another new beuracracy that is feeding on the blood of the American People.
