LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- President Bush's ratings have fallen among Michigan voters in the past two months, as worries about the economy and the war in Iraq raise doubts about his role as the country's leader.

Thirty-seven percent of the 600 likely voters polled Sunday through Wednesday by Lansing-based EPIC/MRA said the country is going in the right direction, while 53 percent say it's on the wrong track and 10 percent were undecided.

Hey there, Willie.

I read the title and the source... and zoned out.

Why does the term "hit piece drivel" come to mind? I just can't get past that.

I think Michigan will end up being a wild card state this time around. Given the fact that less than half the record turnout expected on caucus night actually showed up to vote, I have to assume that democrats arent exactly wound up over the upcomming election.

"We haven't seen such a single-issue focus since the early 1990s," Ed Sarpolus of EPIC/MRA said of the high number of people who said they were worried about the economy and jobs. "What the voters are saying is, "I don't want you to talk about anything else. ... Michigan's focused on one thing and one thing alone."

Thanks, Willie Green...Keep these "counterexamples" coming!!!

Forty-nine percent said they'd vote for Kerry compared to 45 percent for Bush, while 48 percent said they'd go for Edwards while 45 percent said they'd go for Bush.

The 2000 election results were as follows:

Gore 51.3%, Bush 46.1%

I'm in Michigan, and I doubt if Bush will win here. Unions and minorities vote for whoever has 'D' behind their name.

Michigan has been losing jobs for the last 40 years while other states are gaining jobs. The problem is the Michigan labor union mentality that views paychecks as entitlements instead of something that has to be earned.

Other states and cities go to extreme lengths to attract and create new jobs. Michigan-Americans just whine and demand that the government make jobs stay in their anti-jobs state.

Yeah, Russ, but that's what makes this strategy so dumb. It's nine months until the election. Americans (self included) have the attention span of ground squirrels. We're going to be so bloody sick of this song by then...

Michigan is a state controlled by the unions/poverty pimps in Detroit, Bay City, Saginaw and Flint. It favored Gorp in 2000 and will most likely favor the democrap pimp who runs in 2004. No big deal.......

Who needs Michigan?

I'll never buy a new car made by some Democrat union imbecile pulling in 60K a year by overcharging Americans for their lousy products.

In Bay City. I've been in Brooklyn for the races of course. We used to go for the August race, but found it harder and harder to give Nascar our money. (Didya hear Brian France just sold his California home for $12 million).

You know, I seem to remember Mondale leading Reagan in the polls at about this point in 1984. Now let's see, I believe that Reagan won by about 18%.

Folks, Kerry is a Mass. liberal. Democrats LOVE NE liberals. The rest of the country does not. Relax and wait until the real bullets start flying.

Michigan is a state controlled by the unions/poverty pimps in Detroit,

My niece's then fiancee voted in a precinct on Detroit's east side next to the Grosse Pointes and waited in line for over 2 and a half hours. He said people were being bussed in like it was a free football game!

After he got inside, he was handed a flyer which was an exact duplicate of the butterfly voting machine selections. "AFTER HE WAS INSIDE!" This is a blatant violation of voting laws, all representatives handing out crap must maintain a certain distance from the entrance of any voting facility.

Not only that, all campaign literature taken into a polling facility must be discarded before entering the polling area.

Each and every individual handed the "Voting Prompt" was allowed to take it to their voting maching! The literature provided had the pictures of those running, the ones you were supposed to vote for and those who you were not supposed to vote for had "X's" over their faces.

The instuctions with the pamphlet said that all you had to do was place the pamphlet on the ballot thing and punch out the ones you were instructed to punch. Turn the page on the ballott box and turn the page on the pamphlet! No Brainer!

"Bushco be takin' on water, FAST!!!"

And .. you arrived at that conclusion because ......???

There's a thread here on FR named BETTER THAN CLINTON. Have a look. According to the article, Bush is doing better now than Clinton was doing in his re-election year, as far as how the economy is working.
