My economic policy is not to export American jobs, but to reward companies for creating and keeping good jobs in America. Unlike the Bush Administration, I want to repeal every tax break and loophole that rewards any Benedict Arnold CEO or corporation for shipping American jobs overseas. - Senator John Forbes Kerry, February 10, 2004
The truth of the matter is that H.J. Heinz is an extremely diversified multinational corporation. It has 70 manufacturing facilities worldwide. Of these the company only has 10 plants within the United States. The remaining 60 are located outside the United States, many in Third World countries who pay their workers pennies and whose labor standards are poor to non-existent.
H.J. Heinz also has a history of not being less than rigorous in making sure that its raw materials are not the product of underage, child labor.
H.J. Heinz
sold food that the AP found had been the work products of
under-age children that the AP followed in the fields. 1997 Special Investigation by AP As with just about every aspect of the Kerry campaign, his rhetoric is contradicted by the facts. In short John Forbes Kerry is a consumate liar.
Here is the complete listing of H.J. Heinz' offshore facilties.

Kerry has been blabbing about how the Bush Administration is exporting jobs and that is just so terrible, yet Heinz entire business model seems to call for most of its plants to be located in third world countries, 85% of its capacity is located outside the US of A.

Does this mean that they are being "more than rigorous"

Just checked the link, either it had already been caught or I screwed the posting up, since I seldom err, it must be the former

Read an article in todays local paper concerning how many Priests had been involved in child molestation. First part of the article said 14 Priests, later on it bragged that"only" 0.02% of all the 700 Priests had been involved. - Go Figure!
To: johnqueuepublic
OMG, Kerry actually spoke the name Benedict Arnold? So anyone who hadn't already made the connection, has now. LOL

The question to ask is how many of the Heinz products sold in the USA are made overseas.

There's been a great interest on this forum about boycotting French products -- Bordeaux, Burgundy, Cognac, certain cheeses, Renaults, snails, whatever. And, to the extent possible, I'm right there with the boycotters. To hell with France.
But what about Heinz products? Should we switch to Hunt's ketchup, to Vlasic pickles, to French's (irony alert) mustard? I throw this out not as a rhetoirical question, but a genuine one. If we buy Heinz products, are we, in any material fashion, aiding and abetting the Kerry campaign? I'm inclined to doubt it, but I'd welcome opinions.

To: johnqueuepublic
yes that is exactly what the text means lol, I think its a typo and thanks for pointing it out. Only confirming the above statement and to point out that possibly it's not a typo at all but meant to confuse or lessen the issue.
0.02%of 700 Priests is slightly more than one tenth of a Priest not the 14 Priests mentioned in the article
To: johnqueuepublic
I check the original text before I posted.
Someone went in and corrected the article.
It wasn't you.

how many of the Heinz products sold in the USA are made overseas Considering shelflife and shipping cost of food products, only a few specialty items would be imported.

thanks my rep is in tact, such as it is.

O I C now, well judging from the rest of the stuff on the Kerry Report, which this piece is part of, I dont think that site is any friend of Kerry, as a matter of fact it calls him a liar.
To: johnqueuepublic
Is it possible that AP did this investigation while Mrs. Heinz was married to a Republican? They surely wouldn't publisize derogatory information about a demoncrat.
What goes around comes around.

I guess you would have to check the dates, to be sure, considering how far AP has fallen from balanced reporting it would certainly be food for discussion.

Kerry is a globalist. He wants a One World Government. Why would he care about jobs going overseas? He talks out of both sides of his mouth all the time. He's a liar and a charletan.
