In a sense aren't they saying, "If you don't fight for your freedoms every single day, then it is ok for government to take them away from you."

I never did understand that line of reasoning...

Shooter posted- "80 million gun owners had the responsibility to see to it that it won't reach his desk. That was the challenge Bush said before the election. That's where the blame will be laid."

I am posting- Never mind that it is Bush's, Congresses' & judges' jobs to defend the Constitution, it is us the citizens that have to do the work even while we have to work a paying job to pay taxes to pay the people who's job it is to defend our rights.

I think the Founders would have understood that as "If you don't fight for your freedoms every single day, then it is inevitable for government to take them away from you."

In a sense it's the old "stop me before I sin again" ploy..

We all know these creeps we elect have no respect at all for our republic, -- and they know we know that -- but elect them anyway..
So this is their way of washing their hands of the guilt of their own dishonor.

It's all our fault.. We've got the crooked politicians we've paid for.
