To: Cincinatus' Wife
When we first took our three out of public school I had some misgivings about it. "Had I done the right thing?" My wife had even more concerns. Three years out, my wife says the kids would go back "over my dead body." I no longer have any doubts we did the right thing.
We saw more than our share with just our kids, when they were in public school; records that were changed to reflect efforts--that were not taken--on behalf of our special needs child, rape threats against my daughter, by a gang of thugs, that were ignored by the self-proclaimed lesbian principle, in-class declarations of paganism, by my oldest son's teacher, etc., etc.
My wife and I have also seen and read about the rapes, shootings, homosexual activism, historical redactions, communist and leftist theology and anti-Christian programs promoted by our public education system.
The ONLY answer is: Get your kids out of there! Our children have not been exposed to this horror for several years now. True, they have not had the social interaction they would have had in public school. But, I see for myself how this has been a good thing for our family. Homeschooling has not been easy for us, but we no longer have any doubts about whether or not we did the right thing.

Believe me, you did the right thing, you are exceptional parents putting your children ahead of your own agenda.

True, they have not had the social interaction they would have had in public school. I always ask, when someone brings this up, "Can you give me an example of positive peer pressure that might happen in a public school?"
Your kids are much better off without this "social interaction" because they will be used to dealing with adults instead of with immature people. Some of these people never grow up and thus become Democrats.
