RINO Senator Warner (VA) also supports reauthorizing the ban. I called his office today and voiced my displeasure.

I'm with you. But it's going to take a stellar candidate -- and even then it will be a long, hard, uphill battle.
(This AWB letter will make him slightly easier to beat.)
Is there a Republican candidate who could do it?

You and me both..
If you take a moment to consider it, Indiana has no voice in the Senate on many issues because Lugar's vote is mooted by Bayh's.

Well if they just re-authorize the CURRENT ban it is a big nothing cause it had no effect on buying a semiautomatic rifle just had to make cosmetic changws
BUT if they start closing the loopholes that is where the trouble lies

Well if they just re-authorize the CURRENT ban it is a big nothing cause...
Cause nothing.
Not only is it Unconstitutional, it's an insult to the reader.
"Cosmetic changes" please!
It's fearmongering.. and look ut, "sniper" rifles and "scatter guns" will be next. And while that sounds all warm and fuzzy to the soccer moms, you can bet these things will look a hell of a lot like your garden variety deer and duck guns.
And then? Once these horrible weapons have been eliminated, we'll be safe, right? So it'll be over, right?
WRONG! Then we just pare down again and begin anew with some other awful, horrible weapon that kills children, double parks, calls people at 3 in the morning to ask if the fridge is running, etc.
Because this is a scheme designed to progressively strip away weapons. If you don't believe that, then we will just disagree right here and save a few hundred posts on the matter.

Exactly, he would love to be more liberal.. but this State won't sit for it.
He's known for saying things like: "I can't do that here.. No."

Mini-14 Rifles:
The Ruger Mini-14 rifle is chambered for the popular and proven .223 Remington cartridge and has an adjustable rear sight. The Mini-14 employs a simple, rugged version of the Garand breechbolt locking system, with a fixed-piston gas system and self-cleaning moving gas cylinder. Since its introduction in 1974, the Mini-14 has proven itself many times over, both in farm and ranch use, and in law enforcement and security applications. Options include blued or stainless steel and hardwood or synthetic stocks.
This illustrates the insanity of the AWB. I've tested this "non-threatening", traditional-looking rifle against my AR-15 and, lo and behold, it is just as fast and accurate. Shorter, too. But it's not subject to the AWB.

Does the ignorant (censored) uunderstand that banning weapons only means that the criminals will still get them, but it will keep these "pseudo-weapons" out of lawful citizens hands?

Let em' have it Indiana Freepers. Let him have this. If Mary Beth Grismore had been carrying a handgun, Evan Bayh wouldn't be a senator now.
No wonder the Bayh crimninal gang doesn't want their victims to be armed.

About 15 miles from the Bayh family's home area of Terre Haute.

I also called RINO Warner and Allen. Allen has said that he will support an extension of the current AWB as long as it stays the same as it is now. Sorry, but that's no good.
Quick question for everyone. When you call a Congressman or Senator do you just talk to whoever answers the phone? Or maybe I should ask, what's the most effective method of getting your message across when you call?
To: 68skylark
I don't know of anyone off-hand, except possibly Quayle, but he isn't even a resident of Indiana anymore. Perhaps Goldsmith the prior Indianapolis mayor, but than that I can think of no one. Too many people in this state are dupped by his looks and charm to see the real animal.
