Been out there a few times, but I can't describe it well enough. She didn't get far, so it's probably set up like an interstate.

Two lane byway. If she went to sleep at the wheel, she was a 2.0+ corned up commie.

"I remember in the late '70s, in Thousand Oaks, California a teacher's strike where the striking teachers smashed the windows of school buses full of little children as they were driven on to school grounds).

I never heard of this but it was a couple years before I moved there. Nothing happened to the teachers??

Resign? Wisconsin's "top cop"?

Its former "top cop", now Governor Jim Doyle, is opening a webpage for Wisconsin citizens to order prescription drugs from Canada, despite prohibitions to the contrary.

What is the law to these types?

Due to your tag line, I have to ask you this question......

On dimpled chads or punch ballots, how come they don't fingerprint each one in contested intent?

If there are no fingerprints, it was bulk produced and someone needs to look deeper.

She's one of Doyle's best grabber allies. I'm sure she doesn't have a gun.

Legally, the officer could hold you down and forcibly draw a blood sample from your veins.

Which doesn't change anything I said.

And a court case to determine the constitutionality of that practice would be interesting.

She supposedly registered at 1.2 but claims she only had a couple glasses of wine.

For some that is a few glasses of wine.

Made she had a couple that she'd grabbed earlier in the day? ;)

Great question, which you answered yourself.

"If there are no fingerprints, it was bulk produced and someone needs to look deeper."

I just looked it up. It is a civil penalty, not a criminal violation. Refusal does not stop the OWI prosecution in any way. Especially since she was stupid enough to refuse a blood test after blowing .12 on the roadside test.

She will most likely try to argue that the roadside test is inaccurate and that she had had a drink almost immediately before taking the test.

To think Wisconsin instead could have been served by Vince Biskupic.

Here's "Peg's" response to DOJ (notably not to the citizens of Wisconsin):

AG Lautenschlager: Open Letter to DOJ Employees
2/24/2004

For Immediate Release
For More Information Contact:
Brian Rieselman 608/266-7876

The Following Statement was released to all employees of the Wisconsin Department of Justice today:

I am sorry to tell you that I made a terrible mistake last night. While driving home, I fell asleep and drove off the road, and was subsequently cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

I wish to apologize to each and every one of you for the negative impact my actions might have on the Department and the public's perception of this fine institution. I am extremely embarrassed about this and know that I have disappointed many people who have put their faith in me.

I wish to thank the officers of the Dodge County Sheriff's Department for their professionalism in handling this matter. I accept the consequences of and will take responsibility for my actions.

- Peg

..and to take a look at the Incident Report:

Naah. They'll issue her a 4WD car so she can drive out of the ditch on her own.

Oh please! I've never seen a gun grabber who was not "Guns for me and not for thee". Her husband is a retired cop.

If she wasn't carrying, I'm the pope.

A couple (more than one) glasses (pints) of wine (Thunderbird).

I think .08 is BS, however, this is a perfect example of what should be a DWI arrest. This drunken road slob getting a DUI puts those who got tagged for .08 after a couple (2) beers (12 oz.@ 5% per vol.) in very bad company. Her .12 DUI will look the same as an incidental .08. This is wrong.

I just looked it up. It is a civil penalty, not a criminal violation.

I figured. It is in my state.

Refusal does not stop the OWI prosecution in any way.

OWI?

Especially since she was stupid enough to refuse a blood test after blowing .12 on the roadside test.

If she was smart she would have refused both. Drunk people aren't usually smart.

She will most likely try to argue that the roadside test is inaccurate and that she had had a drink almost immediately before taking the test.

I leave all those speculations to lawyers.

Also notice the tag number was left blank. Since when do cops write "Draft" police reports?
