I have to say this, that a week ago, during one of the usual monthly (or is it weekly now?) alerts that are broadcast on tv (Detroit environs), which I usually only half-hear anyway, the announcer tacked this on -- that the warning would be sounded during a nuclear attack, or some such phrasing. But the word "nuclear" was definitely in it. I was only half-listening, but that word was there for the first time that I've heard it.
Wow, that's freaky. I usually pay attention to these things, and I've never heard them say that. I'll watch for ours and see if I hear anything similar.

It bothered me a lot.

Re: those emergency alerts on tv.
Just heard another one (actually there were 2, about 20 minutes apart, and I have honestly never heard 2 being aired on the same night) -- it was worded as "nuclear plant accident or toxic materials".
They also said it was a monthly test, but the last one I heard was about a week ago. (This is the Detroit area.)
