Accidental Ebola Exposure at Fort Detrick

A civilian researcher at Fort Detrick, Md, accidentally pricked herself with a needle, containing a weakened form of Ebola virus last week, while injecting mice, as part of the Army's continuing research effort.

The woman has shown no signs of illness, but will have to remain in isolation for up to one month, as the incubation period varies from 2 to 21 days.

There is presently no cure for this high-mortality disease.

I had no idea Ebola could incubate for 21 days. Wow.

Re- the Frederick woman exposed to Ebola at Ft. Detrick. One part of this not often mentioned is that the day this occurred, she went home.

Only the next day did she report the exposure. The officials are saying that there is no risk of exposure due to the length of time it would have taken for her to become contagious, plus apparently she didn't go anywhere but home.
