[history]
February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

They could also attempt to cut the power to our control towers.
But I think their trump card is nuclear.

A dirty bomb on a major grid would certainly do it. But then again, they claim we will be watching it on TV

I interpret that as Canada, and having to do with reactors, Niagara Falls. (Just a hunch- trying to think back over all the pictures.)
They told the Muslims to "head north" in their initial threats.

Oh I am so lost. I'm sure if we have the time we can figure out what they mean here.
To: freeperfromnj
I took that threat to mean that our staff in the bunkers would be able to watch the destruction of a US city from the safety of the command post, via satellite.

I thought I saw a warning for Canada/airlines scroll across the Fox news screen earlier. I'm going to check further.

Yes, there was a threat to Canadian airlines reported.
Also, somewhere in all this mess I heard reference to Alaska.

What about that little Islamic conference where all the little troublemakers decided to make Israels life miserable?
I wonder if Israel is one of the threatened countries also?
To: rickylc
Definitely needs to be watched. There are thousands of passengers stuck on those cruise ships waiting for the channel to clear.
To: swarthyguy

Quote from Zawahiri.
"You Bush, protect your country and step up your security measures. The Islamic Ummah Mujaheda (Nation of fighters), which sent its brigades to New York and Washington, is determined to send more 'Death Brigades."
As is the tagline. He sounds like a DeadHead - as in
"If you plant ice, you're gonna harvest wind".

Terror attack in Britain 'inevitable'
From correspondents in London
February 25, 2004
A TERRORIST attack in Britain was inevitable, British Home Secretary David Blunkett said.
Security measures alone were not sufficient to stop the threat, he said. Asked if such an attack was a question of "when, not if", Blunkett told BBC television: "Yes, it's the view that's been expressed by the head of the (home) security service", Eliza Manningham-Buller.
