[history]
February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

Actually, this is from a REAL source. This is not Internet chatter, "analysis", or rumor.
As I have stated on this thread earlier, I have superior confidence in my source, but I am not in the business of describing who, where, what level, etc. To do so would identify the source.
I only post it because I want some of our friends here to not be so anxious about a multiple, imminent nuclear strike. (Reading this page, combined with other "analysts" might scare the hell out of some people, needlessly.)
And by the way, we do not, as of last week, hold OBL. We did not capture him anywhere in January or before. (I can't vouch for the last 3 days)
Now, I know it would be great if I could tell you how I know, and from where my source comes. But that's the difference between having a good source, and purporting to have a good source. Besides, I have never been on this thread to create a hype about information I may or may not have. (I am here out of 1) curiosity, and 2) caution.)
People who have real-time, sensitive intelligence and information simply are not going to share it on the net. My info is different -- it is a denial of rumor. I am not purporting to "know" something. I have merely confirmed, to my satisfaction, that certain "unconfirmed" rumors are NOT accurate. (It's a bit ironic that I report what is obvious, and I am under siege. Yet others report what not only cannot be collaborated, but what cannot be possible given the time, circumstances, etc.)
Believe what you want -- that's the best part. I merely share what I can.
BTW -- my source did not rule-out the possibility that a device of some sort might be in the Country, but the source was quite emphatic in denying that 20-30 "suitcase" nukes were in Country. (Source does not deny presence of NEST teams searching for devices).

Sean's sources are real. So are my sources.
None of our info in reference to OBL or the Nukes have come from internet chatter.

AP ^ | 3/01/04
LAKE JACKSON, Texas (AP) - A stolen single-engine airplane flew through power lines, blacking out about 11,000 customers, and then crashed, and the pilot vanished.
The FBI joined the investigation and planned to question the owners of other aircraft based at the Brazoria County Airport, said Louis Jones, the county aviation director.
Investigators believe the thief broke into 16 hangars early Sunday before finding a Cessna 172 he was able to commandeer, Jones said.

Fair enough. I hope your source is accurate. I don't doubt his/her sincerity, nor yours.

The cinema of the mind presenting Belushi shouting "We are the Killer Suveeeees!" in Hawaii was a well needed humor break! We've gone beyond living in interesting times.
To: Iron Eagle
Sure. OK. Whatever. You do realize, don't you, that you are starting to sound just like the people you have previously chided on this thread, on more than one occasion, for stating "information" from purportedly REAL, yet unidentified, sources. Yet you seem to expect us to believe you when you say that your sources are REAL.
Get REAL.

Calpernia, wrt to Sean's sources: I don't understand why, if these are legit governent sources, that Sean would divulge something that our government wanted to keep secret??? I keep going back to the "loose lips sinks ships" motto.
IF we have Osama, I think the U.S. would keep it quiet long enough to verify DNA. I can't think of other reasons that we wouldn't shout the capture from the rooftops as soon as positive ID is confirmed?
Are your sources the same as Sean's?
Computer viruses, worms set costly Internet record (cost to businesses $83 Billion in Feb.)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1088399/posts This is why Al Qaeda's plans for cyberattacks also need to be taken seriously. Tremendous amount of damage can be done to the global economy, just by a few nasty viruses.

Believe what you want -- that's the best part. I merely share what I can. Please keep sharing, it helps to present both sides of the issues.
That said, a personal friend of mine whom I've known for 25 years is in a postion to "know". He won't tell me a thing, not ONE thing. Jokingly, he tells me that he'd "have to kill me if he told me"....but his lips are sealed shut. I respect that.....immensely.

I thought this was a joke at first -- Very scary!
To: Velveeta
There is also the possibility that the US deliberately releases this info as a "rumor" to keep the terrorists guessing.
Some "leaks" are deliberate.
But they don't want to officially confirm it, because that would result in possible Al Qaeda action they don't want.
This is just a guess on my part, but I have read things along those lines. This is a very complicated 5-dimentional chess game, if one could call it a game, except that this is deadly serious.

Ok, time to check in, have been lost in Google land for two days, so this list isn't going to make a lot of sense, but it will win the strange award of the day.
Google.com for:
e-jihad
1425 e-jihad
2003 terrorist attacks in U.S.
2004 terrorist attacks in U.S.
Then from looking at Yahoo Groups, under Islam, by the state, California, I came up with a group that didn't make sense, so I googled: (and still don't know the meaning)
Intifada Halaqa
Results of part of the search:
Islamic links (100's of them)
http://www.brain.com.pk/~kaabapkpk/links3.htm
Links
http://members.tripod.com/BBArabs/Islam.html
Mamas list of 2000+ links
http://www.jannah.org/mamalist/
Young Muslims (what do you think of the top picture? the chicken wire shape and birdwire over it. The arrows going up?
http://ymsite.com/phpbb2/index.php
http://www.ymsite.com/newsletters/newsletter4.html
The group that started the day, it was formed 1-31-04, to issue assignments and presentations, 5 members.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Intifada_Halaqa
This site is confusing, it is really a site set up to give a few links to other sites, which link to even more sites, it goes on forever.
As best I can tell, it is not a love group, but rather has its base in a battle in India, that the muslims killed 58 Indians and the Indians have now killed 1,000 muslims.
I question why so many groups are all set up and have no or only one or two messages in them? But many links to keep you looking at the subject, my eyes gave up, before the links did.
