The USS Pueblo is still a tourist attraction for them.
(They seized our boat in 1968 and never gave it back.)

There was a docu-drama made about the 9mos(?) of torture and brutalization they inflicted on our sailors. Pity more Americans do not know about those who endured that misery.

We will know in about three hours if the talks collapsed or if they papered over the differences. Either way, it is not going to be pretty.

North Threatens 'Bombshell Declaration,' if Six-Party Talks Fail

WASHINGTON,D.C. -- The second round of the six party talks to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue opens Wednesday in Beijing. The talks, which will be attended by North and South Korea, China, the United States, Japan and Russia, are being restarted six months after the first round of talks last August. On Wednesday and Thursday morning, two full sessions will be held, with bilateral contacts and working group meetings held in the afternoons.

The United States is expected to insist that if, and only if, North Korea completely, verifiably, and irrevocably dismantles its nuclear program, including its highly enriched uranium program (HEU), can relations between the two nations improve. The U.S. position is also that during working groups to be started during this round of talks, each nation discuss plans to make concrete North Korea's abandonment of its nuclear program and verification mechanisms.

Some Japanese media reported that North Korea made it known through China that "it can completely dismantle it nuclear weapons," but on Tuesday, the North made clear its position that the U.S. must drop its hostile policy toward Pyongyang simultaneous to a nuclear dismantlement.

The Chosun Shinbo, a news organ of the pro-North Korean General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, said in a dispatch from Pyongyang on Wednesday that "North Korea will not depart from the formula of a comprehensive settlement and simultaneous action." It also said, "At this point, the stern reality is that North Korea possesses a nuclear deterrent, and if during the talks, the U.S. reiterates its demand that North Korea give up its nuclear program prior to a deal, the head of the American delegation will hear an even greater 'bombshell declaration' than last time."

The Chosun Shinbo hinted that the 'bombshell declaration' refers to the North physically displaying its nuclear deterrent, and said "If a settlement to the nuclear issue is not reached during these talks, it could lead to an uncontrollable crisis."

South Korea plans to reveal its "Three Stage Plan to Solve the North Korean Nuclear Crisis," which includes the expression of security guarantees to North Korea by South Korea, the U.S., and Japan if North Korea reveals its intention to dismantle all its nuclear programs.

They certainly enjoy adding their macabre details.

One of the most chilling-IMO- is the frogman next to a grinning OBL. Pure evil.

On the spot: plane crash kills Balkan leader

Boris Trajkovski

President Boris Trajkovski of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia was killed today in an air crash in southern Bosnia Herzegovina. Nick Hawton reports from Sarajevo.

“It is difficult to say at this early stage, but I see no reason why the death of Mr Trajkovski should plunge the country into political turmoil. The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia currently has a functioning coalition government comprising Macedonians and ethnic Albanians.

“Elections were due to be held later this year in which Mr Trajkovski was likely to retain power. The country is relatively stable politically, compared with the situation in 2001, when inter-ethnic conflict almost plunged it into civil war.

“Ljubco Jordanovski, the speaker of the Macedonian parliament, will step in as interim president until new elections can be held. He has already held meetings with senior officials today.

“One of the last acts that Mr Trajkovski made as President was to sign the country's application for membership of the European Union yesterday.

“Branko Crvenkovski, the country's Prime Minister, took the application to Dublin to hand it over formally to Bertie Ahern, the Irish Prime Minister, at an official presentation ceremony in Dublin today. The ceremony was cancelled when the news broke and Mr Crvenkovski returned to Skopje.

“Mr Trajkovski is probably best known for his instrumental role in halting the 2001 conflict between Macedonians and ethnic Albanians, when the country came close to civil war after the minority Albanians staged a rebellion demanding better rights.

“He was elected President in 1999 and became only the second man to hold the post, as the country declared independence only in 1991. At 47, he was also quite a young President.

“He has managed to keep the more extreme elements of his party separate, but has been criticised by his political rivals for being too close to the West.

“He entered politics in 1998 after graduating from law school in Skopje and studying theology in the United States. He later became a Methodist priest.

“He was President of a country that is struggling economically, with 30 per cent unemployment and which is desperately in need of improvements to its industry. Joining the EU held out the prospect that the country could become more stable and prosperous.

“The EU took over the peacekeeping role in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia from Nato last year, and has also sent a police mission there to help ensure stability.”

Wreckage of Macedonia President's plane found

ROTIMLJA (Bosnia) - The wreckage of the plane in which Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski is presumed to have died was located yesterday in a minefield in southern Bosnia, officials said.

'Yes, they have found it. Yes, it's in a minefield,' said a member of Mr Trajkovski's Cabinet in the capital Skopje.

'They're trying to figure how to get to the site safely.'

The plane, with eight others on board, came down in rain and fog near Stolac in Bosnia-Herzegovina on Thursday for yet-unknown reasons.

A Nato helicopter was hovering above the site and scouts with de-mining gear were clearing a path to the crash site. There was no word on bodies. -- Reuters

"that the 'bombshell declaration' refers to the North physically displaying its nuclear deterrent"

There we go again- nuclear blackmail.
I wonder if this is why we have been practicing evacuating South Korea.
Also, I wonder if Japan ratcheting its alert status to the top has more to do with N Korea than with AQ anger over Japanese troops in Iraq.

Could be, I can't see the masks, well enough to say.

Sean thought the background might be the pattern for a bio, I thought it was chicken wire for pens.

Looking at a larger picture, it still looks like chicken wire, which could mean the POW's at Cuba.

The POW's are in cages (?), are they going to release a gas and then walk through the prison.

Are they intending to kill the whole compound, American and muslim and stop them from talking to us?

The "other" possible pattern in the background, would be stones, as in a stone wall or cobblestone roadway.

I would say bubble wrap, but that is a more uniform pattern, unless they are showing it as used and dirty, with the dirt being in the cracks and forming the pattern we see.

Thank you for the site to see the larger picture, I need you to take my picture, as you do a good job and look YOUNGER in each one.

It reminds me of neighbor years ago who was having a problem with someone stealing the Gas out of his gas can for his lawnmower. They would steal the Gas, but leave the Can. So the neighbor got smart and mixed a good amount of water in with the Gas. Sure enough he came back and the can was empty. Needless to say...No one ever stole his Gas again.

and see them checking out OBL's teeth with a flashlight

I'd rather see them pulling his teeth with pliers while shining a spotlight in his eyes, but I'm probably the only one who wants to see him squirm that much. An eye for an eye...a tooth for a tooth!!!

Thank you, I did.

the one on the left sure looks like it has a 'hose' going to the face.

Wonder if it was to protect them or to deliver the gas?

I think it looks like a stone background.

The snippet below is from an advertisement for a cruise. The view of the NYC skyline in the advertisement is very similar to the view in the Jakel "Nuke New York" image. "A great way to check out the world famous New York Harbor. This 90 minute cruise will give you a great opportunity to see many of the most famous landmarks associated with New York all from the water for a unique perspective. Check out the imposing New York City Skyline - home to some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world, including the famous Empire State Building. Cruise by the Statue of Liberty - standing frozen in time to remind us of the freedom all of America stands for"

No, Michael was stopped by a cop today in Colorado. Michael was wearing a ski mask allegedly shopping at or near a Walmart.

The Pavestone like pattern===> Exactly how chemical reactions and compounds are drawn in Organic Chemistry. And I DO see the hoses...ehy obviously didn't work if they were BIO suits.

But the TORCH from the STATUE OF LIBERTY upside down on the flag really is what freaks me out.
