These same complaints came out during "The Patriot"

The only thing Hollywood respects is money. This movie is going to make a pile of it. I fully concur. However, the use of the word "respects" is probably more reflective of your politeness, then a true indicator of how Hollywood really feels about money.
I will also volunteer to take this a bit further:
"Passion" will be nominated for 5-7 academy awards, though it may not win any.
The reason I think this, is an extension of your thoughts. Hollywood knows they are in trouble in many ways and are losing audience attention and respect. This movie will get more people into the theaters, in a very short time frame, then any movie has in a long time. Hollywood will feel that they need to do something to improve their image and will throw this movie a few bones of respect, by giving it some nominations.

Then he could make a movie about Hollywood called "The Whores of Babylon".
That was done two decades ago, the movie is called S.O.B.
I think Mel may make a billion off of the Passion.

Seems some in Hollywood are frightened out of their wits that a pro-relgion film is produced and their beloved ACLU will have a tougher time trashing the word "God."

Of course they hate the movie The Passion. These hollywood elitists have been living their lives and producing movies glorifying sodom and gomorrah, and now the Salvation in their face is such a terrifying sight.

Hollywood is terrified?
Probably because "will and grace" does not work in any religious perspective.

Mel Gibson isn't going to have to worry about getting someone to finance or distribute any movie he wants to make ever again. If a producer has someone else finance a film, that person will expect a big chunk of the profits. If the producer finances the film himself, he keeps the money (well, whatever portion Uncle doesn't steal).
I have a very strong suspicion that this movie is going to make more money for Mel Gibson than any previous movie has made for an individual producer.

They had excerpts from the film on the Pax channel. At first the actors speaking in Aramaic was disconcerting . you concentrated on the titles while trying to fully take in some amazing images.
But then something odd happens. The old language forces the film away from the present, it lose a contemporary feel, so you are gradually drawn back to a time two millennium ago.

May I add a little to your movie title; namely, "The Passions of the Whores of Babylon," starring many of the elitist hollyweird women."

A sequel of sorts might not be bad if done right. I've long wished to see a decent film presentation of the Acts of the Apostles.
The way I'd like to see it done would be as the story of the journey of St. Paul from death to eternal life from being the persecutor of Christ in Jerusalem to a martyr for Christ in Rome. The film would be narrated by St. Luke (the patron of artists, and my vocational patron!) who would tell the story of Paul to Our Lady, beginning with the stoning of St.. Stephen. Our Lady would of course add her own narration regarding the things that happened to her and the other apostles in the years after the Lords ascension into heaven.
A faithful film adaptation of the Acts would have lots of Roman Empire pageantry, exciting swordfights, shipwrecks, hairs-breadth escapes, angelic visitations, even some moments of humor and romance, all centered on the amazing journey of St Paul and St. Luke as they carry the Gospel to the heart of the Empire for the final showdown with the Antichrist, Nero. The final scene would show Nero in the Coliseum laughing his ass off in his imperial box as Christians were martyred on the stadium's field below... then we'd fade to the Coliseum as it is today an empty ruin standing amidst the ruins of Nero's empire. The camera would cut to the place where Nero's box once stood, and would tilt up along the length of the huge, triumphant memorial cross that stands in that spot now... then further up, over the rim of the Coliseum wall, to show brilliant sunlight glistening off the dome of St. Peter's on the Vatican Hill beyond.
I'd see it.

My sister said we should use the napkins at the theater because when you cry hard, the tissues stick to your face and disintegrate. Thought you would like these words of wisdom..:-)

Seriously, Mel put his heart and soul into this movie and we need to support him against Hollywood and FOR the Lord.

Anybody see
The Majestic"?Sounds like that's what they're threatening to do to Mel. Bunch of damned LIBERAL Jewish hypocrites that only want it stuffed because he is a Christian and they are anti-Christian. I thought Rats stood for "tolerance."
[In case anyone thinks that this right wing extremely pro Israel poster is anti-semetic...you are dead wrong. I said LIBERAL Jews...as in Babs Streisand??!] So don't get bent out of shape! If in doubt, see my recent posts on the matter.
