So...kill $11 million in funding because you don't want a pro-life (or pro-adoption) licenese plate? A tad excessive, no?
Reminds me of a toddler's tantrum - If I can't have some nobody gets anything.

The Libs say they are "pro-choice"... this means you can choose abortion or you can choose life.
But they raise a fit when someone advocates choosing life.
This proves they're really "pro abortion", doesn't it?

They need to embrace some diversity as they so strenuously expound on many other issues.

"[The lawsuit] punishes several organizations that benefit from the program." Good, get enough people mad maybe they will start pressuring the pols to punish the ACLU under the RICO statutes.

A compromise that should be offered to the ACLU is to provide an inclusive solution in the form of another plate they support: Choose Death.

The choose life plate has survived challenges in various states.
Why not a "pro-choice" plate? Because a pro-choice means pro-abortion. How many womane publicly admit they had an abortion? What real man would drive a plate with an abortion message? (oh yeah he is the one you want your daughter to date.)
We don't need tort reform, we need stupidity reform.

I say we shove a few pounds of diversity down their piehole. What is also not mentioned in this is the Sons of the Confederacy recently got enough people to get a specialty plate, too. The ACLU actually wanted to find a reason to deny them their own plate but couldn't without appearing to be two faced bigots that they are so instead they are trying to kill ALL the specialty plates.
Besides, they couldn't find enough people to get their "Choose Infanticide" plate into print.

Is this not a matter of free speech? If we
had one that said, "burn the flag", bet they
wouldn't have peeped a peep.

In an attempt to halt the sales of "Choose Life" specialty license plates, the ACLU has filed a lawsuit that would shut down the entire specialty plate program in Tennessee and cut off $11.5 million in funding to non-profit organizations statewide. Their actions have upset numerous nonprofit groups in the state whose plates, and the donations they generate, are possibly in jeopardy. A$$h*les. I hate the ACLU.

That headline alone is loaded with innuendo.....LOL Perhaps so. In all honesty, I didn't read past the excerpt. Nor did I research the organisation that is responsible for the story. But if the facts were that the ACLU did what the excerpt asserts, then it would be exactly what I have come to expect from them.
They're still a$$h*les.

It's about time the ACLU ---champions of free speech (mbut only their free speech)---opens their books to let the rest of us see who are their financiers.
Before they are allowed to proceed, the organizations involved should demand that the ACLU open their books.

I know - there's a deadly serious side to the innuendo. And not out of the realm of possibility with those animals.

We have a "pressure your representives" campaign going. Funny, the state told us if we could get 1000 paid orders for the plate. we could get it. Now this!

Does anyone know what the basis of the ACLU's suit is?
To: beckysueb
Don't understand what you mean: You offered them that option. What option? If the school is threatening to curtail your group for any reason file a civil rights complaint Don't give them options about it, but do it.
Most likely it'll back them off by order of other unit heads lawyers, and other Sr. Socialists who still love (their) federal dollars coming in, and/or don't want Univ. resources tied up cleaning this mess up and having to (un) pissing off DOE.
