Compare the two lines of the article: This one is from the 1st paragraph:

"The Free Republic Network today announced the unveiling of www.WinterSoldier.com, a new web site to provide news, analysis and research material regarding the false claim by John Kerry and others during the Vietnam era that atrocities were routinely committed by America's military."

and this one is from the 3rd paragraph:

"Kerry testified before the Senate that the United States committed war crimes in Vietnam as a matter of military policy, citing claims of atrocities made at the discredited 'Winter Soldier Investigation' -- an event primarily funded by Jane Fonda.""

The first line implicates all soldiers, which is misleading.

The 2nd line is more accurate. It was Kerry's accuastion that it was military policy to allow war atrocities.

Military policy is what this is about, not the soldiers themselves.

I suggest correcting the first paragraph to reflect "military policy", not "military"....if disproving that is was "policy" is the intent of the investigation.

Parsing words to cover ones previous tracks is indicative of an insecure person. Throwing up a smokescreen to hide what you originally posted is indeed questionable.

I suggest that you return to reality and stop joining Fondaboy and his comrades (political not military) in slandering and libeling our nation, its military policies, its military leaders and knock off what amounts to the mantra du jour of anti-American left like the Demonratic candidates for president, International ANSWER, Ramsay Clark, Susan Saranwrap, the dope to whom she is married, Sean Penn and the rest of that trash: "Oooooh, I support the TROOPS but, I oppose the war."

LMAO. There is no way to spin this, if you think searching for US "war atrocities" to make Kerry out to be a liar is an admirable quality, I question your morality...its just plain wrong.

I'm not sure you're following this...

The intent of the site is to counter the grotesquely exaggerated claims of atrocities made by Fonda, Kerry, the Vietnam Veterans Against the War and others, with the truth. And the truth is that atrocities did occur, as they occur in all wars, but they were neither widespread nor done as a matter of military policy. Some of the "veterans" who told horror stories at the Fonda / VVAW "Winter Soldier Investigation" never served. Others served but were never assigned to Vietnam -- including members of the VVAW leadership. At least one admitted that his testimony was written for him.

The Winter Soldier propaganda effort trashed the reputations of the overwhelming majority of American servicemen in Vietman, who served honorably. We think it's important for people to know that what John Kerry told the Senate in 1971 was, in fact, a lie.

The line is accurate. "Military policy" has to be carried out by real soldiers, not some piece of paper. According to Kerry, that policy had been carried out in real time.

Get a grip on reality before you post.
