[history]
The state has been on a spending spree for decades. Our last governor was recalled in large part because we felt something drastic had to be done to bring our fiscal house in order. Desperate for change, we went to Hollywood for our casting call and brought in the Terminator.

Defeating the bond would force our governor and our state into drastic action, that's what we need. Besides the Bond is unconsitutional see Article 16 of the California Constitution. There is a link to that Article and it's embedded in paragraph of the column that reference the Constitution, if you go to the original article at: http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/gate/archive/2004/02/23/asparks.DTL

Like every other city, San Francisco is a city of many children. Of course many children do read the newspaper, and especially scan headlines. So what will they think when they read that headline in the San Francisco Gate?
The article may be fine, but the headline is atrocious.

Kelly, I remember very well. With Arnie campaigning for my federal dollars now (aren't my state taxes enough?) he's crossing over the line between helpful moderate and decided fiscal knave. The presidential comment isn't helping my viewpoint, either.

"The article may be fine, but the headline is atrocious."Oh stop! That headline is PERFECT for San Franpsycho!!! Besides he stole it from the Waspman and I'm flattered!!!
I've been calling Benedict Arnold's bondage, "BONDAGE" for the past month, or more!!! I think I even used the term in a reply to sfwarrior!!!
It's something all the S&M preverts in San Fransideshow will identify with immediately, only they'll like it!!! (grin)(oh, and I stole the "Benedict Arnold" and am standing by for the "Benediction for the Bondage Measure!!!")
All four ballot measures aren't needed, not wanted and aren't worth the powder to blow them to hell! I don't care what the CA Repellican Party endorsed today! They're chasing disaster and the termination of the Terminator!!!
No wonder their mascot is "Dumbo" the elephant!!! (no, I'm not third party, either. The Repellicans left me, I didn't leave them)(I won't be represented by a pack of RINO packyderms)

I am against the bonds and hope that fiscal Armeggedon occurs and bankrupts more than one state government office.
Cuts only for the next two years, and then maybe we can talk about borrowing some money.

Turn on the TV and see run down classrooms with toilets that won't flush and inadequate books. But look behind the scenes and find bilingual teachers on staff for much more than ESL, and large numbers of expensive computers in many classrooms. Of course they're buying expensive textbooks that are politically correct -- this year. Keep looking and find incompetent, immoral, and statist bureaucrats who are conniving to manage children's lives as well as their parents' for the sheer profit of it.
It's no wonder we're not getting our investment back in education here.
