Makes you wonder. Are these two separate readerships?
And how can there be a large readership for anti-American rantings?
Or are the anti-American rantings (O'Niell, Franken) being ASSIGNED in university/community college/high school political science classes? That's how most leftist fiction and non-fiction gets high numbers. Captive audience forced to buy the books for 'discussions'.

I have to wonder if the New York Socialist Times doesn't just make up their own bestseller's list. They list liberal books for as long as possible even though they are so far down the Amazon list they are barely even noticed.

All of the recent non-fiction acquisitions at my local public library were liberal titles. Most of them had "Lying" in the title in some form. Throw enough mud at the wall...
