I have put a proposal on the table. I have challenged Poohbah to call into Suss-man's show and debate him live, on the air, regarding Kaloogian, Tancredo, and, our desire to more strongly feature the voice of the Right wing of the GOP, which Poohbah appears to greatly despise.

I only despise the back-stabbing loser wing who deliberately sabotage election campaigns of the ideologically impure--and then scream bloody murder when nobody trusts them after they do so.

If you wish to entertain the luxury of backstabbing those you disagree with, get used to the luxury of doing without their votes when your guy wins the nomination.

I have not repaid the backstabbing I've been on the receiving end of over the years--nor am I about to. That's because, unlike the "my way or f***ing else" crowd, I'm willing to work with those who disagree with me to accomplish conservative goals.

BTW, why should anyone support a man like Tancredo, no matter how much Mr. Tancredo verbally agrees with the prospective supporter? He demonstrated that he's untrustworthy in small things; I am unwilling to trust such people in larger matters.

The Conservatives, today, I will admit are in disarray. Karl Rove--dysron, though he be--seems to have intimidated many who were such before 2001, into going along with the absurd. The Rockefeller wing, now are simply referred to (as they sought to be then) as "moderate Republicans"; they favor more Internationalism than most Americans, and appear to have embraced a tangental movement that calls itself "neo-cons." But I agree with your statement: "But in any case, the Right need to retake the GOP before it's destroyed."

That is precisely why I have written the article, which I know is not going to make some of my good friends, who just want to go along, happy, Karl Rove--Dysron, Quack or Mole?. We cannot sweep the issues among us, under the carpet. We need a frank and open debate, in which the issues are analyzed in depth, and the grass-roots of the party make a rational rather than a forced decision.

But we're not really interested in hearing you wax philosophical about wiping your A$$.

Maybe you should, since you seem to talk out of yours. But that's no surprise, since your head's jammed so far up it you need a Plexiglas windown in your stomach to see where you're going.

I would like to see the following vision put into play. Imagine thousands of events like this taking place over the next year. Imagine the full mobilization of a reinvigorated GOP support network, and, the creation of the "mother-of-all-web-communities," far outclassing and outmarshaling anything we've seen from the Deaniacs.

You *did* notice what happened to the Deaniacs?

They thought they were part of a huge mass movement.

In reality, they were just talking to themselves.

Repeating their strategy is going to generate the same result.

I recommend that people -- especially the purist conservatives read this article and thread:

[Rush] Most Powerful Man on Earth Powerless Against Rogue Courts and Activist Judges

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1085272/posts

The major enemy of the Constitution and conservative ideas are the Courts and activist judges. The ONLY feasible way to change that is to elect a Republican President and a Republican Congress with a filibuster-proof majority for about the next 20 years, so over time the judges can be replaced by judges who interpret the law, instead of legislate and push their liberal agenda from the bench.

Conservatives should keep their eye on the ball, and instead of attacking Bush, their best chance to stop the tide of liberal activist judges, they should make sure he gets reelected and give him a good solid Republican Congress.

To paraphrase, "it's the judges, stupid".

And to reiterate my very simple factual statement: either Bush or one of the Dems WILL be president for the next 4 years. Pick whom do you prefer with all the above in mind.

They don't care about judges. It's far more important that their <Michael Savage Mode> feeeeeeeeeeeeelings </Michael Savage Mode> be validated.

They're a lot like liberals in that sense.

Clearly you have a certain philosophy which you share here. The proposal is that you take that philosophy onto Sussman's show, and debate him. What could be more simple?

Exactly right. That's why we would not follow that approach. The only things in common would be web use and meet ups. In all other respect, aggressive influencing, recruitment and embedding would be needed. The youth outreach piece is key.

In terms of Bush, you'll get no argument from me. I neither propose to, nor do I promote, undermining Bush or steering voters away from Bush. As for other races, once primaries have been undertaken, the GOP slate stands. Simplification is key. One other note. We on the Right have shied away from lawyering, from courts and from our own version of judicial activism, and the Left have jumped in the fill the vacuum. So, even while we work on the slow process of getting favorable people seated as judges, we *must* get ourselves much more comfortable with using the judicial weapon to our maximal advantage. There have been glimmers of this since the early 1990s (Judicial Watch, Pacific Legal Foundation, etc). We must have more.

My philosophy: vote for Bill Jones in the primary--he is the most conservative man who can win in California, given the realities of the present situation (finances, overall political temperment, et cetera). Vote for the GOP candidate--whoever it is--in the general election.

What's to debate beyond that?

I must assault with vigor your assertion that this debate is one of feelings versus, purportedly, reason. If anything, reason is the very engine which leads one to a Burkian perspective, which I support for the most philosophical and well considered reasons. Back when I still went more with my feelings, my views were more in line with yours. It has been my increase in use of reason which has led me to move to the Right.

Some people say "it's the judges, stupid". No it is not. Its the RINOs. They are the ones that keep supporting these prochoice/abortion judges and refuse to support ProLife judges.

Just look at what happened when the Republicans tried to change the filibuster rules. Even though the GOP had a majority, AND all that was needed was a majority to change the filibuster rules, they couldn't do it because there were a DOZEN republicans who refused to support the President. ( This was on the Hannity show).

Bringing more Rinos into the big tent of the GOP creates not a bigger tent

So take it to the airwaves, on Sussman's show. Worst case, if he agrees with you, it will be a rather short segment. Somehow, I am guessing it would not be, though.... ;)

Dean tried all that. It gave the appearance of a mass movement--in reality, it was a few thousand people yammering to themselves and convincing everyone else that the few thousand were just as nutty as Dean.

How could Dean have tried things that take 15 - 20 years to fully execute?

Yeah, right.

You just want the pleasure of a 3:1 gang-up on your self-perceived "class enemy," simply because I (a) disagreed with you, and (b) decisively proved you wrong on multiple occasions.

BTW, who is this Sussman character, anyway?

BTW, please explain why anyone--no matter what their stance on immigration--should trust Tancredo one iota.

"In terms of Bush, you'll get no argument from me. "

==

Good.

The only reason I started to post on this thread at all, because of the news report posted, that during the Kaloogian rally "GOP loyalists booed President Bush". I thought that was totally unacceptable, and said so, which caused a horde of so-called conservatives to decend upon me and full attack gear.

Then Kaloogian's reaction to the people booing Bush is critical.

If he went along with it, smiled at it, winked at it, or did anything except castigate the booers, he needs to head over to the Constitution Party and stay there--and he is NOT, under any circumstances, qualified for the Republican nomination.

Same thing happened to me. There's gonna be a ZOTEX sometime this summer.
