Here's a question .... When the Dem's finally pick their candidate .. and whoever the person they pick for VP is ... can't they use any money that person has raised in the campaign???

If so . start looking for who has the big bucks stashed away

Kerry will need to get the cash from his wife, because there will NO money from grassroot Dems. His boring, bellowing style will drive 'em away, along with their contributions.

I don't think an Edwards - for example- wants to dump his cache down a Kerry toilet.

Unused funds can surely be used for later campaigns.

Edwards doesn't have any cache left to dump down a Kerry toilet

He's in debt by several millions .. which is why he's pushing Kerry for debates .. Edwards is broke and doesn't have the money for TV ads in all the states for Super Tuesday

She can only give him $2000 Max !

She and billionaire George Soros can give unlimited amounts to third parties who run "issue" (read: "anti-Bush, pro-Kerry") ads. And enough can be laundered to the Kerry campaign in 2K chunks to keep it running.

Blame Howard Dean for soaking up and blowing 40 million in Dem political contribution money already.

A selection will be made with territory in mind. Who can win states in which the "candidate" is weak?

He'll just ham it up. Take him with a grain of salt, though. Most people like Bush butter anyway.

Not sure if they are allowed to do that but that wouldn't stop them anyway. The thing is no of them really have any money stashed away. Maybe they could snag a sitting senator with a big war chest. Of course Edwards could raise alot of money from all his ambulance chasing friends. But as he says he isn't running for Vice President. LOL

Wifey is supposedly still thinking about chipping in from her assets. Don't count on Kerry going broke.

W.F. Buckley, Jr. had a recent column on this ...

"...current law denies to a candidate the right to repay past loans from money that comes in after the operative political date (in this case, the national convention in late July). After that, you can use only $250,000 of campaign contributions to repay old debts, and $250,000 comes to only a little over one year's interest on the [the Heinz] Beacon Hill [home] loan.

So it has to be cleared up before then, Kerry supporters are being told.

Other interesting tid bits from the column...

"She has to be careful, even though she made out a prenuptial agreement with John. If he divorced her, one assumes, she would keep the house, to say nothing of her fortune.

Bear this poignancy in mind, that Mrs. Kerry is not permitted, under the law, to give Mr. Kerry more than $2,000 when he is running for office."
