Schwarzenegger orders attorney general to halt gay marriages

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger ordered California's attorney general Friday to take legal action to stop San Francisco from granting marriage licenses to gay couples.

In a letter to Attorney General Bill Lockyer, Schwarzenegger directed the state's top lawyer "to take immediate steps" to get a definitive court ruling declaring what the city is doing to be illegal.

I like your analysis but on the other hand I just have a hard time equating two guys getting married with the wanton killing of babies. I know I am in the minority here on FR but when it comes to gay marriage, I could give a rats arse. I don't see it as a threat to traditional marriage. If you don't want gays raising children then do something about that end of it. Like I said, I know I'm in the minority on this one.

You can't threaten something that has already deteriorated in our society to near irrelevance, but you sure can subject it to abject ridicule and make a total mockery of what once was the basic unit of societal fabric upon which this nation was based... the nuclear family!!!

We are probably going to have to agree to disagree on this one. These things run in cycles like the pacific oscillation. It is actually starting to swing the other way with the younger generations. Society changes over time. I don't see it as deterioration but change. I don't see gays getting married as a threat to the nuclear family. I don't see it effecting it at all really.

You have to keep in mind the mind set of the younger generation. They have been so bombarded with this pro-homosexual propaganda that they are tuning it out and going back to traditional thinking. It is evident by their changing the meaning of the word gay. For them it no longer has anything to do with homosexuality but now stands for things that are bogus or square to use an older term. Caring about whether two men get a piece of paper is just gay man.

Homosexuality only breeds peace and love and there's no need for the violence and murder of abortion. The homosexual activists and "gay" rights people want homosexual marriage for one reason, and they have stated it themselves.

They want to destroy morality and the natural family, because those are obstacles to their "free-wheeling" enjoyment of wild promiscuous sex, and an obstacle to wholesale indoctrination and recruitment of fresh meat - our children.

And leftists have adopted this issue as their own, even though homosexuals are such a tiny percentage of the population for a couple of reasons - if "gay" sex is ok, then the less colorful sexual immorality that they indulge in is by contrast moral rectitude. Also, the breakdown of the family and moral values helps usher in societal breakdown, thus furthering their socialist agenda.

I've been wondering about something that I haven't seen addressed.

Since S.F. is selling illegal licenses they are essentially performing an intentional scam for money. If I were to stand in front of city hall and try to sell bogus licenses I'd be charged with a crime. Why are they not approaching the city offices in the same manner?

I've read the piece on the web and remain unconvinced. It's a nice analogy, but not a driving force. There are plenty of reasons for the periodicity, but what you find is that many such phenomenae turn on the duration of a single life within a field, but do not operate in phase from subject to subject.
