Angry Militiamen Take on Drivers

SMCCDI (Information Service) Feb 20, 2004

Angry militiamen have been reported as taking on drivers who are passing in the streets of the Iranian capital and are showing signs of joy following the massive boycott of the sham elections.

Windshields of several cars have been broken in the Madar (former Mohseni) and in Shahrak Gharb as the drivers were using their horn and their Windshield whippers covered with gloves to express their hapiness and to say "goodbye" to the Islamic regime.

Several drivers were thrown out of their cars and beaten up in the early hours of the evening.

Okay, I'm confused here. I thought the islam dictators blocked all the candidates who want to get islam out of their government, and that the people who supported those who were blocked boycotted voting.
So how are they going to say good-bye to the dictators?

Okay, the people who were blocked,(the reformists) didn't necessarily want Islam out of the government. Only a small few. The rest just thought a couple of the laws were a little stiff. But they hadn't really accomplished any reforms since the last election. So, they were really worthless. They weren't going to get rid of religion in government. Yes, the 'hardliners' did block the 'reformists', as they're called. THE dictator is Khamenei. The 'reformists' have to do what he says. They weren't getting rid of him . So, nothing would change.
The people boycotted the elections because they didn't want either group.
It's the People that don't want a theocracy.

(I've had a long day, so I hope that makes sense)

Yes, for the time being.........but not for long.
And the message that the boycotting people wanted to send not only to their own government, but to the rest of the world, will be heard. (waiting for votes to be tallied still)

Yes, it does, thank you. But I still don't understand the "waving goodbye" bit, as they didn't get rid of anybody.
